      @freedomwriter76

      Thank you so much!

      Aw yay! I’m glad he does, but I’m sure you have a painful journey planned for him. *cries for Alan*

      Ooh, those are all great themes!!! Redemption is an especially amazing one. I also really enjoy themes of unconditional love, forgiveness, mercy vs. justice, salvation, and compassion.

      Ah, that’s awesome! And I should definitely check out those movies. I love war movies. (And cop movies. XD)

      Yup, I know quite a few veterans, actually. One of my favorite teachers from school was in the navy. She gave us a talk in chapel once about her experiences there, and it was so powerful. She’s one of the strongest people I know. My maternal grandfather was also a WWII veteran (he was a medic) but I never met him, unfortunately.

      Wow! The Marines are awesomeeee. On Career Day at my school a while back, the Marines actually came to give a talk. It was really cool, but not exactly a career I’d like to go into. XD

      Ooooh, my LEAST favorite character from WFR? I’d have to say it’s definitely Mrs. Campbell (Russell’s mother). She is most certainly one of the nastiest antagonists I’ve ever written. She’s genuinely an evil person, unlike most of my antagonists, who still have some sort of a conscience and/or some sympathetic traits – but she has none of that. She’s just evil. I hate her so much (guess that means I’ve done my job well), and what hurts most is that people like her actually exist in real life. 😞

      What about you? Who’s your least favorite character from Still Good?

      (P.S.: How do you make such amazing-looking aesthetic boards?)

        @joy-caroline. You’re very welcome! 😀

        Ah, yes. A painful journey. But it will be worth it in the end. 🥰

        Those are awesome themes too! 😁 Definitely check out the movies! They are EPIC! 😉

        The Marines are awesome! And Even as Waters Roar has Marines and I’m so excited!!!!! 🤩

        Ohhh….she sounds horrible. *shivers* She reminds me of my antagonist from Freedom’s Fire, Hans. Ugh, girl, he is so horrible, so horrid, so unforgiving, so hateful, so uncaring, just…oh…he’s so bad. 🥺 Easily the evilest character I have ever created. 😭 And like, the way he hurts Riker…ugh. I need to punch him. (Riker’s my favorite character, if you didn’t know. 😂) Ugh. Yes, so horrible that people like Mrs. Campbell and Hans exist. 😫

        It’s such a new idea…I have no clue yet. 🤣 Alan, Elias, Chaplain Thomas, and Alan’s fiancée, Anna Jane (yes, she has a double name 😂) are really the only people I have figured out. OOH! But Alan’s  dad, though he doesn’t have a name, is probably my least favorite now that I think about it. He abused Alan as he was growing up, and eventually abandoned Alan when Alan was a teen. Alan was adopted by a loving family after that though, thank goodness. Though he’s not in the book by this point…my least favorite spot for Still Good has to go to him. He was so horrible to poor young Alan. 😠😭 (that’s a piece of Alan’s dark past, btw.😭)

        And about the bonus question…umm…practice, I guess? 🤣 I’ve been making some for months now. I started with Marvel ones (I’m a big Marvel nerd, lol.) and then moved on to making ones for my characters and it’s just…been a lot of practice. 🤣 The characters are my favorite parts of writing though, so I get to know them pretty well. I just find pics and quotes related to their story/struggles and put them together and the rest…is history, I suppose. 😜

            So! Here is my other MC for Seas of Fury. She’s one of those characters I am still figuring out, so here is her first collage. She’s also randomly the only female character that made it to MC stage.

              @koshka. OOOHHHHHH!!!!! I love it! I’m already so intrigued by her!!!! Oof. I totally get ya. Literally, I have only like, 2-3 books with just one female MC. The others…all guys. XD

                So am I! XD I’m just now learning her back story.

                The funny thing is all my awful younger writing had female MCs. All of it. Then a few years ago I picked back up writing, and POOF! Nearly all male.

                    @gracie-j. Yes he has!!!! DON’T WORRY!!!! OF COURSE HE’LL GET A HAPPY ENDING!!!!!!! 😉 (I can’t leave a reader with an MC that has a bad ending. I’m not that cruel. XD)

                      @koshka. I was literally the same way. XD My old, childhood writing (I’ve been writing for years, just only as a real passion for 2-3 years now) had female MC’s and was (surprising, I know!) Fantasy. Yes. The first genre I tried to write was fantasy, because my aunt, who inspired me to write since she’s a writer, writes fantasy. But then…when I picked writing back up, and a His-Fic story arose, I honestly realized how much better I am at Historical Fiction than Fantasy. XD

                        I understand! All my early writing was Historical fiction. Then I found historical fantasy. Already being a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my writing, it’s a relief not to be constantly worried about accuracy.

                          @koshka. I get that! 😉 A WIP I’m working on with my best friend(we’re gonna go back and forth with the chapters) is a Historical/Fantasy/Dystopian novel. An odd combination, I know. XD But I love it so far! 😀

                            @freedomwriter76

                            Ah, both Hans and Alan’s dad sound like horrible human beings! 😖 For Russell’s mother, she hates him for adopting Eliza, and she’s just a completely evil person. Russell’s older brother, Robert, on the other hand is a sort-of antagonist, but he still has a conscience – basically throughout the entire book he is struggling with that conscience. He’s jealous of the love that Russell and Eliza share, while trying to convince himself that Russell’s adoption of Eliza is not the beautiful thing he knows deep down it is. Robert is a really complex character, and while I don’t like him one bit (it’s entirely impossible to like him at all), I can’t help but feel kind of sorry for him. Unlike Mrs. Campbell, who deserves no pity whatsoever.

                            Does Alan suffer from anything mental health related resulting from his father’s abuse? (I’m sure he does, since you can’t go through anything that traumatic, especially as a young kid, without coming out of it changed.) Also, do any of your characters have PTSD? As I mentioned before, that’s one of the toughest parts of writing Where Faith Remains for me. The extensive research I’ve done on PTSD has certainly been very sobering and eye-opening.

                            (P.S.: I love that your book includes adoption! Forgot to mention that’s another of my top favorite themes to write about!)

                            Ooh, cool! (What’s your favorite Marvel movie? I haven’t seen any of them, shame on me 😩 But I’m curious because everyone has a different favorite!) I’m terrible at finding face claims for my characters, especially. 😕

                              @koshka. @gracie-j. @elishavet-pidyon. @katthewriter. I made 2 moodboard like things for my WWII Trilogy! I’ll post the first one here, then the other one. 😉  This one is just a combination of all the MC’s from The books’ aesthetics. 😀

                                And then…this one. Just to show the characters and name of the trilogy. 😉

                                  Leon and Riker are the MC’s of book 1.

                                  Erich and Esther are book 2.

                                  And Abelard, Ezra, Phillip, and Jamie are all book 3. (four MC’s are a lot. I’m gonna have a lot in that one. XD Oh, who am I kidding? There’s a lot to cover in all of them! XD)
