February might be known as the month of chocolate, flowers, and cards covered in paper hearts, however the far more important attribute about this coming February is that it's the final month of the most relevant contest of our time.

In these past few months the Kingdom has been filled with much Dragon Slaying, ink splattering, and epic knowledge obtaining.

I must say I am sad to see it go. But maybe something even better will come in it's place, only time and wizard of the relatively popular tea shop can tell.

Yes, that's right ladies and gentlemen, February is the last month of the Dragon Slayer Article Contest.

So if you want to write articles for the contest, January is the last month you can write and submit for it!

In the final month of the contest we'll be finishing it with the fun topic of...

Character Voice and Dialogue

Writing dialogue that is both interesting and natural is no easy task to pull off. Instead of making the captivating dialogue that makes our character the charming witty chap we envisioned, the dialogue seems stiff, unnatural, generic, and at worst so cringe that it makes a grown man burst into tears.

This is the reality for so many writers. Their entire novel and characters are set back because of boring and inefficient dialogue.

So our goal for this month is to change that. To give writers the tools, knowledge, and encouragement to start writing dialogue that is full of subtext, intrigue, and personality.

Ready? Let’s forge forward in the final month of the Dragon Slayer Article Contest!

So write your articles related to February's theme in January so you can submit them before January 24th.

Do I get entry points for submitting articles for the Contest even if I don't get published?

Yes! You get one entry point for every article you submit to Kingdom Pen that follows The KP Guidelines between September 2021 and January 2022.

Do I have to write and submit articles related to the Theme of the Month?

Not at all! The Theme of the Month is just there to have a general focus for the month.

You can still submit and get articles published in a month whose theme is on a different topic!

Can I still submit Poems, short stories, and book reviews?

Absolutely! However, they won't be counted towards the Dragon Slayer Article Contest.

That's all for the final month theme announcement! I hope you have a wonderful new year and that 2022 will be filled with one-of-a-kind story ideas, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and that you get to finish all the stories you want to!

It's been amazing to see how many KeePers participated in the contest, and to read all the work everyone has submitted. I can't wait to see what the final month of the contest has in store!
