Guyyssssssss… It’s been way too longgggg 😭 But I’m finally back!
Writing has been pretty nonexistent lately 😅 I haven’t really written anything since the end of March (and that was mostly editing anyway), and I’m really really hoping to make some progress and get into a better rhythm this summer. I feel like the unplanned break actually helped my creative brain reset and I’ve got some more inspiration and new ideas brewing! (Although tbh, I’m mostly excited about getting back to some WIPs that have been around for a little bit).
As for life, I’ve been busy these past few months! (as you can probably tell by my lack of posting lol). But it’s been good! Got to watch a lot of high school boys volleyball games, my brother graduated and we had a lot of family in town (y’all, that was such a fun but exhausting weekend XD), and I finished my sophomore year of high school! Oh! And I got my driving permit so I’ve been starting to learn how to drive!(!!!!!) ✨

Sounds like a lot of craziness! 😂 How are you liking driving so far? And what new project are you planning to work on first?
I’m doing pretty good! My family moved and so we’ve been settling in and stuff but this week I’m finally starting to finish up my math (hopefully the last math of high school… 😳) And I’ve been writing a lot. It’s exciting because it feels like my novel is actually sort of coming together and I’ve never finished anything before, so yeah. 🙃
Hehe, yes, but good craziness nonetheless! I’ve liked it so far! I’m kinda nervous and a little scared, but I’m mostly excited so that kinda overpowers the rest, lol. My brother’s also going off to college in the fall and he had been driving us places sometimes, so it’s almost like a motivation for me to be the new driver in the house (for my own benefit and for helping mom and dad drive the other kids to sports practices and such).
I think I’ll dive back into a project I started a little while ago, the one about Clayton and Audrey in Italy. The plot needs some serious reworking. And then i might start on a new YA novel idea that takes place in ✨a f r i c a✨. I’ll probably mostly be editing Worth All the World and pushing it towards a more finalized draft.
Oh yeah, how was the move? (I’ve heard mixed opinions from friends that have moved on what’s it’s like, lol).
Ooh exciting! What math is it? And if I remember right, this coming school year you’ll be a senior, right??

Yes, that makes total sense! Righttt. I’m just starting to be able to drive my siblings to the grocery store and it’s been fun. 🙂

It was fine. We’ve moved plenty of times, and this one was a bit more sad for me, but I like our new house and neighborhood, and we’re starting to sign up for activities, so it’s been good.
Precalculus… I was supposed to finish it already, technically, but last year was a bit crazy so I’m a little behind. Only have about 11 more lessons left though 😁
Hah . . . I was a junior last year, so you’re right. Me and my parents are planning to maybe give me an extra year of high school (I’m young for my grade, and this way I can stay in orchestra and youth group a bit longer) though. Soo I may be “retaking” junior year again this year. Lol.

Haha, yeah, I’ll be needing to do a lot of research, but I may save most of it for the end once I’ve gotten the whole story written out.

Yeah, I’m hoping to get a degree in high school social studies/history education and/or youth ministry. I really want to be involved with high schoolers and ministry somehow in my future

Writing's been nonexisitent for me too…I'm kind of stuck on my Andromeda project (which actually has a title now…I'm calling it Outcry for now!!!!) And I'm trying to mess around with creating another plot because I've spent so many YEARS only writing on Outcry and my brain is SO DEAD.
And wowww that's so good, you'll love driving hahaha I'm so thankful for my license!!!!

Nothing much has been going on with me…I got a job at a coffee shop and I’ve been working 7 hour shifts almost every day which is exhausting but at least I get MONEY!!!
And I’m glad its’ keeping me out of the house too.
Besides the writing thing I mentioned earlier, I haven’t been doing that much…just struggling with all the stuff with my Mom and all the nosy people at church…
I think that’s why the thing with Easton in your WIP really caught my attention…even my closest friends say hurtful things (even though they mean well) and a lot of people think they know everything when they have no clue what we’re all going through lol so that sucks…
But I get to go to church camp this afternoon and later at the beginnning of July I’m going to a big conference in Indianapolis for youth that attend Alliance churches so that will be fun!!

I’m actually going to the zoo that day (we’re splitting our youth group up based on what we wanted to do…one half is going to a waterpark and the other is going to the zoo.)

Ugh, yesss, I know that feeling. It can be really good to switch things up every now and then!
Oooh, that sounds like such a fun place to work! I got a job at a coffee shop near us and then was FIRED before I even started. 😑 It was because she thought they would be busier now that they had added ice cream to the menu, but apparently they weren’t and she was like, Well, we don’t really need you now… It was frustrating and kinda disappointing, but thankfully I had another job lined up so I can just get more hours from them now. 🙄
Yeahhh… that sounds difficult. 😣 Good intentions don’t always produce good actions. I think some people underestimate the power of prayers, so they want to help in other ways but don’t realize that praying and just being there for you is so much more helpful and encouraging than what they might realize. I’ve been learning that lately because I have a friend who’s dad passed away very unexpectedly about seven months ago, and for some reason that really connected us and brought us closer as friends, when before I hadn’t known her super well. (I’ve lost two grandparents, so I can somewhat understand where she’s at, but I don’t think she actually knows that…) Anyway, I’ve been learning how to just be there for her if she needs it and not shove a bunch of Scripture or nice sayings in her face when all she needs is praying friend, ya know? (And occasionally surprising her with Starbucks at school 😉 )

Hi!!! You’re alive! I have my permit now too! Passed the test first try, and even have some duck Student Driver magnets for our car! I’m scared though. It’s a 12 passenger van with enormous blind spots and an essentially useless rearview mirror.😬 I drove around a parking lot a bit after the test, and I’m driving again this evening. How’s your driving going? I assume you have a smaller car…XD
I’ve been trying and failing to get a summer job. I applied at four places and none of them wanted me. A friend told me never to work retail and that it was one of the circles of hell, so perhaps I dodged a bullet. XD Also corporate America sounds like a nightmare in June. But a paycheck would have been nice. I will be getting a job for sure in August as a part time nanny for an adorable baby🥰, so I’m currently working out details with the family about that.
Not much else has been happening lately. I’m reading a bunch of thick books this summer. Writing…has sort of have been forgotten, but now that school’s out, I hope to write more. I’m thinking of joining KDWC in July.
Yay, that’s so exciting! Oof, yeah that doesn’t sound fun 😭 But hey, if you’re able to drive that, you’re able to drive anything, right? XD We have an SUV and a Ford Taurus that I get to drive, so yeah, a lot smaller, lol. But it’s been going well! I really like it and I can’t wait until I’m experienced enough to drive to school and church!
Ugh, that’s frustrating. It’s kinda surprising that you couldn’t get a job, tbh. In our area, a BUNCH of high schoolers are working everywhere, lol. But at least you know you’ve got one coming up!

I’ve driven three times so far, and I’m driving again today. I’ve only hit two curbs, which isn’t too bad given the size of that van. XD I can’t wait till I can just drive places whenever I want to, though I know that I’m going to be the one always going to Kroger to pick up some forgotten dinner ingredient. XD

I recently finished Les Miserables, and the Unblemished trilogy, and now I’m rereading the Stormlight Archive. Book 3 is taking forever to come from the library. 😭 When I finish Stormlight, I’m going to read the Count of Monte Cristo. What about you?
