Hi Ella! I hope you had fun on your vacation! Me, my school just ended, so I’m trying to find a routine with a couple of different WIPs and music. I maybe started another 10 stories since the last time you checked in, haha, but most are on hold now. I’ll give you two: one is a potential short story/novelette called “Ravens of the Valley” about a group of criminals and their downfall, and the other is a fantasy short story titled “They Called Him Lang”, about a villain with a conscience. I’m interested to see how they both turn out, if I ever have the time to finish them, haha. Your WIP sounds really interesting! What are the assassin’s supernatural abilities?
the vacay was awesome! stayed up till midnight and went on a run in the morning, lol!! i totally get that–i started writing 7 different ideas and rn i’m working on a different one. 🙂 those ideas sound great!! 😃 the assassin (Selena) has super agility/reflexes (u know how dumb that sound when i say it out loud? 🤣) and she can pinpoint any target without a scope… which is super vision or whatever….
anyways, to us lowly earthens that seems pretty cool. to this earthen, at least 😜
what do you think of this month’s theme? i like it–especially the Loki article, lol 😂 I love loki. have u seen the series on DIsney+? it’s kinda weird but interesting at the same time.
Oo, Selena sounds super cool! Who are the people trying to track her down? Or is she the main character?
I’m loving this month’s theme! No, I don’t have Disney+, but I have seen the trailer for it!
So, it’s kind of complicated. Selena’s father left mysteriously when she was 10, leaving a strange necklace and a letter in which he promised to return, then she was transferred to the foster system. When she was 14, she ran away from her foster parents and forged a life for herself (it’s a dystopian world that’s half underwater + urban fantasy). The necklace that she always wore contained enhancers so she was able to do superhuman things. She was noticed by a powerful tycoon who hired her as an assassain. At 18, she was one of the best hitmen and therefore a target to some people. The government sent some agents to capture Selena, but since she avoided capture, so the agents turned to Selena’s childhood friend, Faith, for information. Together, they try to track her down, but Faith is conflicted about the whole process.
Selena isn’t technically the MC, bc there are four POVs featured. I guess she and Faith would be the main-er characters. 🙂
That was way more than you asked for, but who doesn’t like crazy dystopia/thriller book ideas? 😜
Oo, that sounds absolutely awesome! I’m also getting into dystopian lately, haha. Best of luck on your endeavors!
What stage are you with it now?
