Okay, please be brutal. Tell me what you really think– and what thoughts would go through your head if you saw this cover on a shelf at the library or in a bookstore– or on Amazon for that matter. I need to hear opinions like you’re a reader looking for a new book.

@e-k-seaver Girl, that’s fantastic! (I totally meant to get your cover done last night–still want me to do one for you?) My first thought: I love the key in the title and just the overall dark, fogginess going on. I’m not so sure about the moon being as big as the house…but otherwise it looks great!
February 9, 2021 at 12:54 pm #92112@gracie-j, Seriously? Thanks. 🙂 (Yeah, if you don’t mind. 🙂 I’m still trying to get a vision for what I want it to look like) Okay, I might play around with fixing the moon. It’s not my favorite either.

ekseaver.wordpress.comFebruary 9, 2021 at 12:59 pm #92115That’s a book I’d pick up in a heartbeat! Now, I know the old saying is… “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, but normally, I do. But this one is really good! I like the graphics and color palette, and the title as well. Well done with it
February 9, 2021 at 1:17 pm #92117@writerlexi1216, wonderful. Thanks for the feedback!

February 9, 2021 at 1:22 pm #92125@writerlexi1216, A combination of pixlr, canva, suggestions from a friend who’s majoring in graphic design, and several hours of procrastinating school work.
If you like the style, I can try to make you one.

ekseaver.wordpress.comFebruary 9, 2021 at 1:26 pm #92127Neat! That’s pretty impressive.
Seriously? I’d love that! What kind of details do you need?
February 9, 2021 at 1:51 pm #92133@writerlexi1216, sure! Give me color scheme, story ideas, a couple covers you might want it similar to/a vision you have for the cover, and any aesthetic Pinterest boards you have. Oh, and the title/author name and stuff. 😛

ekseaver.wordpress.comFebruary 9, 2021 at 2:49 pm #92162Sure! What about this…
Color : I like dark blue, purple, grey, pink, white. Any of those should look fine!
Story : It’s a fantasy book, so you could think swords or any sort of fantasy element. And anything with the moon may look nice, since that’s relevant to the book.
Title : Fortitude
Author name : L.M. Williams
(I’ll send some aesthetics in a separate post, too)
Thanks! 🙂 I don’t really have any specifics in mind so sorry if it’s vague…
February 9, 2021 at 2:53 pm #92164I don’t know what these books are (I just looked up some for inspiration) but I like the color schemes

I have 2 things u may wanna think about. 1, I don’t really get the title (and if u love it go for it) but for me, I can’t make much sense of it. Is it actually about a house that….like never ends? Like room after room? (If so then the title works lol!!)
and next, not sure what ur going for, but if ur going for a horror vibe, this kinda makes me think more of a mystery so it just depends on what you’re going for.
but it’s gorgeous no matter what!

#ProtectSebFebruary 9, 2021 at 3:23 pm #92181@e-k-seaver I love this!!! The typefaces you picked work so well together, and the way you sized the different words/played with the typography… *chef’s kiss* I’m very intrigued about your novella now, so I’d say it was a success! 😀
“Seven seconds till the end. Time enough for you. Perhaps. But what will you do with it?”
