Hey, Kapeefers! I thought I would share some of my artwork with you. I have been following the Character Art Exchange topic for a while, but I don’t think I can commit to anything right now with life so crazy. I hope to sometime though, when I can.
This is a quick oil painting I did of a lady, who is not any of my characters in particular. Maybe she looks like one of your characters? (Sorry the lighting and image quality is so poor.)
I thought you guys might like this one. Its done in black colored pencil.
Here’s another unicorn, also in black colored pencil (which I normally prefer above charcoal pencil because it smears a lot less.)
Okay, so this is an out-of-proportion drawing of me in the Kingdom of Pen. My hair is actually about half this long, but I’m growing it out. 🙂
And another one of me in a different outfit, which isn’t as great. I think I may have overdone the tassels. I think there is 42 tassels there. 🙂
Well, that’s it for now. 🙂

March 28, 2018 at 1:12 pm #69044@ariel-ashira Wow. I love the picture of the dragon and the unicorn. It’s beautiful!
(I don’t think there are too many tassels. 😀 )

March 28, 2018 at 1:16 pm #69047Thank you, @rochellaine ! Glad you like it. I get carried away with tassels and such because I like that kind of thing. 🙂

March 28, 2018 at 1:19 pm #69049@ariel-ashira…I love the dragon and unicorn. the the unicorn seems to know something no one else does, and the dragon looks like a lost baby that needs protecting. that what I got from the eyes

March 28, 2018 at 1:36 pm #69052@alia. You are so perceptive. My Mom thought the dragon looked evil, but I thought it looked scared. 🙂 <span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>I like doing the eyes on animals and people because they can hold lots of emotion. And I hadn’t wanted the dragon to look evil. </span>

March 28, 2018 at 1:37 pm #69053Goodness! Where did that stuff come from? Sorry, Alia!

March 28, 2018 at 1:43 pm #69055@ariel-ashira, I’m fascinated with eyes. They usually tell a deeper story about a person than what people are willing to share.

Kapeefer til we're old and greyMarch 28, 2018 at 1:46 pm #69056@alia Yes! And I love describing my characters eyes, because it can explain a lot.
"In a mask, was he?"
March 28, 2018 at 1:48 pm #69057@ariel-ashira, exactly. too many times I see articles saying to not describe eyes because readers don’t care, but half of who they are might be told on a single glance.

Kapeefer til we're old and greyMarch 28, 2018 at 2:41 pm #69065@alia Seriously, they say not to describe eyes?!! Thats awful. What better thing could you describe!?
"In a mask, was he?"
March 28, 2018 at 2:45 pm #69067@ariel-ashira, thats what I think too, but I can’t find any articles that agree. so when writing eyes I am usually left to my own devices

Kapeefer til we're old and greyMarch 28, 2018 at 2:55 pm #69070@alia I doubt Daniel Schwabaur would agree with such a thing. I bet he would say to describe the eyes. He is the best writing teacher ever! We use his writing curriculum, which has DVD lessons and a workbook, as well as a journal. It would suprise me if he said that, though. Ever heard of him?
