      Hi All.

      A friend of mine started a Christian website called ‘For the Faith’, and asked me to write articles for the ‘blog’ section.

      So. A bunch of you have blogs, and I want advice! Neither of us have run a blog or website before, but I’ve read/followed a lot, and my sister has had one, so I have some idea how it all works. Also I know a lot of you have writing blogs, but this is unrelated from writing. It’s a completely Christian focus at present.

      Any advice is welcome. What’s the top thing you’ve learned?

      Here’s the link, although there’s nothing in the blog section yet. My friend’s done an amazing job of putting it all together!

            @clairec

            So, my blog is mostly writing related, though I do write a few inspirational/Christian posts. One thing I did, last December, was invite a whole lot of guest bloggers to come and talk about things God had taught them, and I found that really encouraging (and I hope my readers did too). So one thing you could do would be to invite other bloggers to help you.

            Other than that, the thing I’ve learnt is the most helpful (on any kind of blog) is to be genuine and friendly. @Audrey-Caylin writes really good inspirational and Christian posts, so I’m sure she could give you some good tips πŸ˜€

            God bless and I hope this is helpful!

                  @clairec Hehe…well, I have a blog, yes, but I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. I’m just writing posts about anything and everything. Maybe someday I’ll get more writing-focused.

                  I like the For the Faith website, though. If I have any advice, I guess I’d just say don’t stress too much over it.

                      @rochellaine You remembered my tag!!! That’s a first xD

                      @clairec
                      From the look of the website, I imagine you’ll probably want to address biblical topics in a fairly serious way. I guess my advice to you would be to make each post have a simple main point, and speak to your audience’s needs. Best of luck to you! πŸ˜‰

                        @gh24682468999 Haha!Β  It looks pretty scary at first, but the analyzation you have in your signature helped me memorize it pretty quickly. πŸ˜€

                          Thanks, @gh24682468999, that’s great advice! πŸ™‚ Also, what @rochellaine said. Before you but it in the signature, I was copy and pasting every time I tagged you. Now, no problems!

                            @clairec I’m not sure what type of advice you’re looking for, so I’m going to dump it here. πŸ˜›

                            If you can make a way for people to follow you, do so. That will help so that people come back to your blog. And make the follow button easy to find. I doesn’t like it when I can’t find the follow button on blogs. Dragon Snapper no like. πŸ˜›

                            But I’m a new blogger, and I haven’t learned that much yet. XD

                              <p style=”text-align: left;”>@clairec I actually have a blog that isn’t writing related in any way (though I’m starting to think I’m the only one). One piece of advice I would give is to write about what God is currently teaching her in her life. This is what I do, and I’ve actually found that it helps me to clarify and apply what God has been teaching me.Β Here’sΒ where you can find my blog. Hope this helps!!! :)</p>

                                @clairec I would say the biggest thing for both you and your friend would be to stay in prayer with God throughout the entire process. By spending time with him, you open yourself up to hear his plans, and through that, He can speak. Christian writers who are connected to God are a powerful tool, so remember to pray and read his word. After that, the rest is–mostly–easy. He’ll inspire you to write what he wants said, and the words will come.

                                If you have any other questions, lemme know. My ideal blog is somewhere along the lines of sarcastically entertaining and encouraging, so I’m headed in a similar direction.

                                Writer. Dreamer. Sometimes blogger. MBTI mess. Lover of Jesus and books.

                                  @that_writer_girl_99, That’s really great advice, Elizabeth, and one of the things that so often get forgotten in any ministry. We get so caught up serving, we forget who and why we’re serving.

                                  @radically-surrendered, This is really good advice, thank you! This is one of the things that has been reflected in my ‘blog brainstorming’ so far. Everything I’ve written down is stuff I’m going through or need to work on. Nothing like teaching from experience! πŸ˜€
