Joseph Darkgrate started the topic Poems I wrote. Opinions please. in the forum Poetry 7 years, 1 month ago
Hey guys, as a side project, I like to write poems when I can. And this area seems like the best place to show them off. I’ve never been really able to write really long ones, so I usually just spend ten to fifteen minutes writing shorter ones. A person from another forum I go to says I’m good at writing “thinking” poems. I’m not exactly sure what…[Read more]

I might have time tomorrow or after then. Where’s what you’ve written so far? I’ll help if I can.

Sounds pretty good. Maybe a bit.. short? I don’t know. But I think it’s better than the one before!

I have a question. You often see “limits
to words/letters. I saw that the maximum amount of 4,000 words for short stories. How can I tell if my story exceeds the limit or is too small? Is there some type of feature I can use? Other than that, I really have no idea what number of words I have. I use OneNote. -

Hey guys, I’m working on something to submit and this is the start. Tell me what you think!
“Tell me,” the man said, “what have you to say in your defense?” The questioner looked down at a young man no older than his own son. The younger looked up, the coarse dirt of his cell moving with him. “In defense of what, Inquisitor?” His cold blue eyes…[Read more]

@daeus, do you mind if I try rewording your synopsis a bit? I just want to see if I could possibly word it better. (sorry, I’m like that)

@daeus
Hm… the setting itself sounds pretty original. I like that,
buuuut, it sounds just a BIT cheesy or something like that. I mean, who HASN’T heard of the guy who’s (cowardly, some type of life-problem, “weak”, etc.) who rises up to save his friends from some evil guy with “undefeatable” weapons.The story isn’t bad, but I just wouldn’t…[Read more]

Dragons are overused in my opinion…
I prefer zombies, Xenomorphs, or humans. Yes, humans. Those are the biggest monsters possible for a good story! Sorry, I’m like that… -

Well, technically, my parents say it’s all in my subconscious. (my parents raised me speaking Chinese until I had to start school), so really, they said I need to go so I can “remember”. I can understand Chinese, but I’ve forgotten how to speak it evidently…

Hey guys, I need a bit of prayer. Basically, despite being Asian, my parents enrolled me into a Chinese teaching class. I did pretty well last year and I was allowed to skip a grade. My first class is tomorrow, so please pray that things will go well and everybody won’t be TOO advanced for me. I’m a fast learner so please pray that I won’t be too…[Read more]

Yeah, I’m not planning on going overboard. Just adding bits in to make it feel like a well-told story instead of a history book.

Yup, I was always thinking about making the big Inquisitor have his own side of the story. Chasing down this HERETIC for his good church…

@daeus, okay, yeah. I’m not that far into its development yet so I hadn’t thought of that. Huss had followers that others deemed “Hussites”. Do you think the story of one of them would make a good subplot?
@salome01w4g, yup. I’ll definitely keep that in mind. I’m not adding things like new storylines and stuff that’ll change what really…[Read more]

Hey guys, thanks!
@salome01w4g, it’s BASED on real events, but the fun part is filling in the parts where you don’t know exactly what or HOW something happened.
As for the subplots, @daeus, what do you mean? I was planning on having it go on almost like a chase. With people beginning to question their loyalty, more pressure on Huss to translate…[Read more]

Hey guys, before I came to this site, I decided I needed a Christian book idea to work on. Since most of my ideas weren’t actually Christianity themed, that was a little hard at first, but I came up with something.
I thought it’d be a good idea to write a book about John Huss. A story of how he came to be who he was, and ultimately how he came…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper. thanks.
As for elves and unicorns, I’ve seen a dark elf and a zombie unicorn so I think it’s still possible for either to be on the dark side. ANYONE can be on the dark side. Anyways, hello to you too!

I LOVE dystopian themed stuff. Desolation is my consolation. (did that sound weird?)
Anyways, you can tell I love that end-of-the-world / post-apocalyptic stuff from what I read and watch:
Hunger Games,
The Maze Runner,
San Andreas,
Planet of the Apes.
etc. -

Hm… Cinnar would love to be here.
Okay guys, this kind of a morbid question, but has anyone seen or know about the Alien franchise? I haven’t actually seen any of the movies yet, but I know a lot about them and many of my stories are influenced by it. I also watch hilarious parodies about it…
I think I’m going to make a new topic…[Read more]
