@PrincessFoo ehhh… I can neither confirm nor deny any past, present, or future dealings I may have had or will have with people of questionable character. *flips knives, stows them in her belt**pulls black mask over her eyes**smiles**somersaults away down the street*

@SeekJustice I second what Kate said. If you’ve just had a passionate speech you can easily play off that with having someone in the crowd disagree and start throwing things, or agree and start throwing things. Mob mentality is a huge thing in situations like that so it’s not hard at all really.

@salome01w4g Heyy! *waves* Sounds like fun. 🙂

@seekjustice what mood is the crowd in? The thing about crowds (especially excited, desperate, angry, or otherwise passionate ones) is that it only takes one small stone to make everything start rolling. It only takes one character bold enough to make a move— throw a rock, light a fire, start running— and all the rest will follow. So if you’ve…[Read more]

@SeekJustice @salome01w4g I haven’t said anything here for a while, but I have been writing. I now will officially drop in (just so you all know I’m still alive. xP) and do some writing with you two! 😀

@salome01w4g So long! I only wrote 257, but, hey! It’s the evil first chapter and I’m a bit out of practice.

@princessfoo Gotcha. 😉 I did think that sounded a little too isolated. 😛
The nice thing if you have access to your character’s head is that it will make it easier to write subtle stuff because you’ve got the character’s internal monologue to add to the equation.

@princessfoo Kapow! Wikipedia probably has a better answer than I do. At least I hope so. I didn’t actually read the article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flirting
Btw, do you have The Emotion Thesaurus? If so, look up “love” in there.

@princessfoo You heard of the name before or you’ve heard of the principle?
Well, you the goal is to keep your characters from reacting with the same emotion your reader will react with. So if your reader is probably going to laugh at a joke, none of your characters should react to the joke in any hysterical way. If your reader is going to feel…[Read more]

@PrincessFoo very solid advice so far. I’ve never written a full-on romance novel, but every story I’ve written has had at least one romantic subplot, so I’ve been doing this for a while. 😉
My one piece of advice kind of ties in to what @Daeus said, but takes a little different spin on it. The most intriguing, engaging thing about your…[Read more]

Hello, @sam-kowal and Stan the dragon! I’m Ingrid. 🙂
Oooo, fantasy! *virtual high five* I like this question so I’ll ask it: if you could be anything other than a human, what would you be?
My favorite books include (but are not limited to) the Harry Potter series, LOTR, and Percy Jackson and the Oympians. I have so many favorites tho…[Read more]
