| Favorite Book(s) or Authors | My favorite childhood series was Mysterious Benedict Society, and I am currently reading Stormlight Archive. For movies (which influence my writing a lot): Pixar, Song of the Sea, Secret of Kells, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Coraline, Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, Spiderverse, etc. Last movie I watched and really enjoyed was Legend of Hei. Favorite tv shows right now? One Piece (live action), Lackadaisy, Last Airbender, Series of Unfortunate Events, Bluey, Sara and Duck, and Gravity Falls. Shameless source of nostalgia? Ninjago. |
| Interests | Salve, advena. You likely already know me, sneaky little stalker. Here’s a gift of knowledge for you – my name on here is Whaley, but my real name is Hannah. I like it because it’s a palindrome. There’s no nickname for it, unless you call me Han or Ann, which no one does. But I’d whip my head around if someone called “Whaley!” in a crowded room, so don’t bother calling me by my real name unless we’re meeting each other in the flesh. More details for stalkers… hm… 😛 I’m a young adult. I’m an Orthodox Presbyterian, 5’11 last time I checked, with shortish hair and brown eyes. My present writing projects: Project Lovedream Project Baztet Project Shäffer Project RI The things I like: I love cartoons and everyday drawing. Movies are the best. And there are some amazing video games out there, too. All the visual mediums make me very happy. I draw, mostly character designs. I’m trying to learn a technique that allows for stylistic characters while being painterly at the same time. I’m inspired by all those fancy animated movies out there. I love music. Not much of the music I listen to is consistent or popular, and I think that’s because I like experimental instruments and songwriting. I have recently taken up the theremin, a challenging instrument for sure. If you knew what that was without looking it up, we might be good friends already. There is nothing quite as fascinating to me as a niche history topic. My senior thesis was about film after WWII, and how its style and form of communication changed to encompass the fractured mental state of post traumatic stress disorder. I love reading about the 1910-1950s America – like, specifically those decades. And no, that’s not just because of the World Wars. I feel like people vacillated between raw traumatic experience and a kind of grossly exaggerated happiness, and there’s so much to unpack because it extends to the modern day, but it’s not like we can talk to those people. I know people who were affected by those decades but as little children, and they’ve been so strongly affected that they don’t even know it. I like any niche topic, really. Give me any topic that fits within human culture, and I’ll research it. Art, fashion, technology, language, entertainment, commerce. I love going to art exhibitions. Our closest museum has some cool pieces, even outside. My favorite pieces are the ones with textured materials and colors, especially if there’s lots of metal. Anything abstract but with a clear theme to it. I posed there for graduation photos, and brought my pet Brahma chicken with me. I thought the photos would be silly, but they looked surprisingly cottage-core/industrial. I might sound like a stuffed-up person, and perhaps I am. But I stutter whenever I talk about these things, because I am truly not an expert. I think about them and proceed to keep the thoughts to myself. I have a variety of other hobbies that I could explain, but that’ll take time. I cook, drink tea, wrestle (on hiatus), take care of children, formulate my personal fashion, collect junk, and sleep. Sleep is a beautiful thing. That’s it for now. :] |
