Okay peoples I’m STUCK!!!! I need a title for a story, but I don’t want to give too much away. So basically it’s based on Jane Austen’s novels and Charles is lord of Birchwood, a magnificent estate. His *cough* comes and well, kicks him out, so to speak.
My sister suggested the title “The Annoying Guest” which would work as a chapter title, but…[Read more] -

Yes, I believe that does make sense. Let me post this for you to critique @spradlin.
I wrote a simple word.
That’s all that started it.
I didn’t realize it then
But I would write a book.I wrote a simple sentence.
A description of a hero.
I added more details
And a new person was born.I wrote a paragraph.
A new scene was painted.

@bluejay I’ve written free verse before. Actually, It’s a poem here on KP, if you want to check it out. It’s called the Awareness of Grace. I wrote that on a whim. Just felt like trying poetry sometime (my first poem) and that’s what happened. I’m not expert….yeah, ask @spradlin. You guys could have a nice talk on the melted chair I just gave…[Read more]

Yeah. What he said. Also, authenticity. The key to any poem is authenticity, but an un-authentic rhyming poem can get away with it because the words sound pleasant even without their meaning, but free-verse doesn’t have that.
And I concur. Talk to @Spradlin. 😀

@bluejay Well, free verse isn’t really my biggest thing, but I have written it a little. Others will probably give you some finer points (@spradlin, get over here!), but I think the biggest point is that you have to use As-Many-Metaphors-As-Possible. I mean, free verse by its very definition means it has no structure so the only thing you’re left…[Read more]

I have a prayer request, a family friend was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer five years ago. He’s outlived everyone else he knew with stage 4 cancer when he was diagnosed. Things aren’t looking to good right now, and he’s trying to hold on for his family. (He’s a Christian.) He has a four year old daughter, and a one year old baby.…[Read more]

I’ve lost a little T from a necklace. It was a birthday present from my aunt and I have no idea where it is. I have been outside (in long grass) and I’ve been looking but I can’t find it. Please pray that we will as it is very special to me.

You could just call it “Lord of Birchwood.” I don’t know. Just a suggestion. Or you could call it *Cough*, since that seems to be a theme in your story. 😉
What is the genre?
@bluejay Uh oh… even the KP doctor has a cough. D’you think it’s from all that smoke from my melting the chairs yesterday? 😛
Lords of the Will
Birchwood Problems
The Lord of Birchwood
???
*hands you cough medicine* Sorry, that’s all I could come up with for now.
@dragon-snapper Yes, that smoke was terrible. So please don’t do that again. Ooo cough medicine, thank you. You know, if you were nice tempered, I could take you on as a nurse. 😉
@his-instrument Hehe. The genre…hard question since I’m not great with genres, but just think Pride and Prejudice. 🙂
How about “The Will of Birchwood”?
Or does that sound too much like a name???? :S
@bluejay
The title “The Birchwood Will” might work, if you think that “The Will of Birchwood” doesn’t work. 🙂

Hmm…a second on Lord of Birchwood.
hmm, I’m not sure, but here are some questions that might help you choose.
What lesson does the character learn?
What’s one word that could sum up the story’s conflict?
Is there anything extremely unusual about your characters or the situations they find themselves in?
What are common words used in titles for the book’s genre? (romance, I assume.…[Read more]
