No problem! I hope your novel is going well. 🙂 Let me know if you have any other questions. 😀 British culture is simply fascinating (especially the accents; I LOVE British accents!). -

For those of you surprised they didn’t do better, thought I’d point out that this test is a knowledge quotient test, not necessarily a judge of how deep your vocabulary is. Most of the words on that list I could have figured out just by dissecting their roots, but as I was supposed to click the ones I knew I let them lie. Also, though this…[Read more]

@ethryndal Ooh, that’s a good one. Here are a few that I missed on the vocab test. (trust me, there are more 😛 )
Parsimonious: Excessively cheap with money; stingy
Svelte: Slender and graceful
Embonpoint: Plump
Funambulist: Tightrope walker

@audrey-caylin Ha; that makes sense. There is a fair bit of overlap between these two questions. And that’s awesome. The more you as an author see your characters as real people and write like that, the more your readers will see them as real people as well. Glad to know I’m making people excited about homework. 😉

@ethryndal That looks great! Haven’t read the book myself, but you seem to have analyzed its theme well.
@dragon-snapper Cool; I may have to read that myself sometime. The focusing question may be stronger as just “through means of revenge or forgiveness,” but not having read the short story itself, I couldn’t say for sure.
Ha; I’m sure you are…[Read more]

@Daeus Ah wait—he’s a Sith because he’s dealing in absolutes by saying unequivocally that “Chancellor Palpatine is evil!” and “Then you are lost” ?
How close to the mark did I come… -

@daeus Okay, so hypothetically, you’re right. Does that make me a Sith?

I got 24,400… sorta surprised. I thought I’d do better than that, but, I did get a higher score than @daeus, soooooo I guess I’ll be content with that. 😉 (…assuming you actually did get 21,400, which, frankly, I’m not buying it)

@daeus @emma-flournoy That is NOT how it went. And that is an image that I will never lose, Daeus. Obi-Wan on a broomstick. Hilarious, but not true. 😛
(Daeus, thanks for making me laugh really really hard. That was truly hilarious) -

*shrug* I wouldn’t know…
But @Daeus that sounds like Obi-Wan’s saying you’re lost if you think Jedi are evil…how does that prove he’s a Sith? He’s defending the Jedi, which doesn’t mean he is one, but how does it make him a Sith? (Try and ignore my ignorance. 😛 ) -

Just so you all know, I think the max score is somewhere around 45,000 hundred words. I was curious so I check-marked them all. ( @northerner which means you are a genius 😛 )

@daeus WHHHAAATT!!!!???? @emma-flournoy Obi-Wan is NOT a Sith. Seriously, we need another moderator to moderate this one. And Daeus, Obi-Wan is MY favorite character. 😛

@Ethryndal So much fun, and not to be missed for sure (an INTJ is giving me puppy eyes. What has the world come to.), but we don’t want to give the impression it’s all bad and so discourage anyone who’s not seen it from DOING SO! Do we now. *severe eyebrows*
