Experiments in Living:
1. One is victorious if they are able to protect their family and friends.
2. One is victorious if they have control over all those who wish them harm.
3. One is victorious if they can gain the ability to live in freedom from physical tyranny and oppression.
4. One is victorious if they can serve others and…[Read more] -

@aratrea While working out my experiments in living for the next section, I realized that victory would work better than either of the others options I had. So I’ve tweaked my question and message slightly to ‘what constitutes true victory?’ and ‘Victory is not measured by if we win or lose earthly battles, but rather in our relationship with…[Read more]

You will be greatly missed. We who remain shall bear this loss with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits that you will one day return to the great Kingdom of Pen. Fare thee well!
In other words, bye and God bless! 😉 -

Can I just say I am loving this course SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!! Basically, everything @kate-flournoy said. It’s lesson 4 and already I’ve learned so much. I also really like how the lessons are fairly short so I can take the time to sit back and think about it and apply what I’ve learned to my various works in progress.
And yes; tragic…[Read more]

Ahh, bye!!! 🙁 I will definitely miss having you on here! However, I totally, completely, 100% understand. Life gets busy, and you have to do what you have to do. God bless you in your studies and life! -

@Aratrea I wanted to let you know, you’ve done an awesome job taking on the role of Editor in Chief. I’m technically not a writer, but I know and love tons of the writer stuff (highly due to being Kate’s sister 😉 ), and I love this site (it seriously is the bestistest place on the Internet). Especially all the talking/Christian…[Read more]

@PerfectFifths Looks like you’re in good hands. 😀
To your last question though—that sounds like it’d work, as long as you don’t make it too long to begin with and then don’t want to cut so much.I hope you win. 🙂

@GabrielleMassman I haven’t read that. *despairing expression* So many good books to read and not enough time! But I’ll remember it. 🙂
I haven’t seen the musical, or any of the movies (yet, at least). But I’ll take your word for it. 😉
And I love that moment too. Combeferre is so sweet, and that was so sad. -

@Overcomer @ClaireC I’ll sure be praying for both of you. I know how hard it is to play an instrument in front of lots of people.

Um…Well, I can honestly say that I don’t know too much about writing short stories, especially not 1,500 word short ones. Yeah, that definitely is crazy. Probably why there is a reward in the first place. 😛 I had to write a short story once that was only 1000 words, and I managed to keep it down to 900. I really just wrote down whatever came…[Read more]

@northerner @ethryndal I think I’m going to be done now. I wrote 167 words. /Not the best, but better than nothing, I suppose. Thanks!

@ethryndal Writing parts of yourself into your characters is one of the best ways to do that! I really like that alternate method though of using one of your friends as a means of portraying the character. Hadn’t thought of that before, but I may have to try that now!

@ethryndal Nice work! I particularly like 3 and 5 since they’re wrong answers that can seem rather sympathetic at first. Sounds like a great backbone for poetic justice there as well.

@aratrea I agree. 🙂
Thanks so much @emma-flournoy (and @sarah-h)! It’s great to have an awesome team to work with and an awesome audience to be helping out. 😉 Glad to hear you’ve enjoyed the site even though you don’t do much writing!
