@GracieGirl Yay! But why’d you hate the ending?! I love both in different ways.
Oh. My. He sounds odd. Is he a modern author?
And of course I read to the end. 😀

This is the protagonist of a trilogy. She goes through a disillusionment arc through the first two books, then has a positive arc in the final book. I’ve done some major work on her arcs recently, but some points might still need to be straightened out.
Beginning: Protagonist starts by believing that good will always win and victory…[Read more]

Though not dramatic enough for most books, a series of teaching and reasoning can change people. Generally, I’ve found that a repetition of pounding the same point home in different ways, by different people, and being able to see the logical reasons for why I should change as well as the threat of the results if I do not change, can cause a…[Read more]

@GracieGirl Hellooo! I’m so glad you’re so happy to be here. And that you’ve read North and South!! Have you seen the BBC miniseries?
And that you’re a Tolkien nut. Of course.May I ask, who is Pseudonymous Bosch?
I play the piano too, and I’m an ISFJ/ENFJ mix. And there are at least four INTJs on here. 😉 Female INTJs. Isn’t that crazy.

@aella Civilization is a video game in which you can build an empire. It is a time sink. 😀

@Dragon-Snapper READ MORE BOOKS. 😛 Do you like fantasy? Read The Songkeeper Chronicles, by Gillian Bronte Adams. The third book isn’t out yet but the first two are awesome. Do you like Saxon culture and coming-of-age? Read The Edge on the Sword, by Rebecca Tingle. Do you like medieval stories? The Red Keep and Rolf and the Viking Bow, both by…[Read more]

@mark-kamibaya
Well, I’ll try to understand both point of views. I do see how it can be good in a way. Otherwise the movie would be an utter failure, whatever it is. Still, I can’t stand these modern love triangles.

@graciegirl Don’t worry about it. You didn’t spoil anything. 😀 Burning Bridge is definitely my favorite, though I like the first four together.
@ethryndal We could also say that it’s abstract art. 😛 -

@graciegirl Don’t worry, I didn’t feel like reading some of the later books in the Ranger’s Apprentice, so I read complete plot descriptions…As for brotherband, don’t worry about it. You didn’t spoil anything. 😀 Burning Bridge is definitely my favorite, though I like the first four together.
@ethryndal We could also say that it’s abstract art. 😛 -

@graciegirl I have read some of the Brotherband, though I haven’t gotten around to the fourth books yet. I think that I probably prefer Ranger’s, but Brotherband is also great!
@ethryndalThey say, “What’s this weird blob over here?” And you say, with a nonchalant shrug of your shoulders, “Art,” and they walk away, completely impressed.

@anna-brie Creating Character Arcs is my favorite book she’s written so far on writing. I have both books in paperback and find myself referring to them quite frequently, so that would probably be a good investment to make.

@anna-brie Ah; I get what you’re going at then. I agree that respecting authority seems to tie everything together.
@dragon-snapper Hmm… Yes, I think you’ll want to make a couple adjustments to that. One thing about a focusing question is that I think it should be a bit broader than you currently have it. The issue with the answers you have is…[Read more]
