@daeus I looked up in this super awesome grammar book I have… you are correct. YAYAYAY! I don’t think that the Well is capitalized, however.

@aratrea
Again, the theme is pride. (I’m just going to use that one as the practice one, because posting all seven of them might take a long time… 😛 😀 )
Experiments in Living:
1. Pride’s okay, as long as it doesn’t spread or grow to arrogance
2. My pride is my identity
3. My pride is uncontrollable, so I won’t control it
4. My pride is bad,…[Read more] -

@aratrea Right, I think I have it this time.
Theme: Pride
FQ: What does pride do for or against a man?
1. Pride is simply a way to gain confidence
2. Pride won’t do anything as long as it doesn’t deprecate others
3. Pride will always destroy a man and those around him
4. Pride will grow to arrogance if left unchecked
5. Pride must be kept at bay…[Read more] -

Snapper replied to the topic How naming affects characterization in the forum Characters 9 years, 6 months ago
@graciegirl That’s a neat idea! I think I’ll make a list too! I happen to use ‘A’s A LOT as well, though in my more recent story it’s E. Hmm… Maybe for sci-fi the letter will be E and for fantasy the letter will be A…interesting.
Carlos, you monster! … Myeah, I think that Zlorom works better for that line. 😛
@ethryndal Eeyore. That sounds…[Read more] -

@ethryndal That’s awesome. Like I said to Audrey, it’s awesome to have role models you see and interact with on a regular basis–especially when they have to overcome struggles like chronic health problems. Great example!

@dragon-snapper Certainly! Here are three different answers I came up with.
– Pride is simply a way of recognizing your strengths and helps you build a confident persona.
– Internal pride doesn’t affect someone as long as they make sure they don’t act pridefully toward others.
– Pride is always destructive and will ruin all your relationships in life. -

@jenali Haha, that’s great you’ve already been applying this to characters. Putting characters in a position where they can see the harms their actions are causing is a great way to induce change.

@jenali Yes; that is the unfortunate truth about what happens when you learn new concepts in the middle of the writing process!
The character arc outline here looks good. I like the fact that you included an example of someone he can look up to in the midpoint arc. Using other characters as examples is a great method of bringing about change, and…[Read more]
