hair and eye color do not make a character alone.

to be honest, I was holding off a little bit on replying because I just am not sure how to correctly continue this, but I shall try.
Think of this another way. Shouldn’t we treat the Gospel with respect for what it is? And writing for what it is? They have different purposes.
But the purpose of a Christian is to “go into all the w…[Read more]

Oh, and I don’t know if S.D. Smith meant Smalls to be a sort of Jesus figure, but if he did, I’m sorry, but I’m, never reading The Green Ember again

while it’s a stretch, you could say that Aragorn and Smalls, the king characters who take their thrones in the end, could partially be considered analogues of Jesus.
If I hear anyone saying this and actually believing it, then they will have the wrath of a German on their hands!
(I understand you’re just mentioning t…[Read more]

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though this wasn’t actually Friedrich it was quite good! Like I mentioned before, your artistic skills are pretty amazing! The hair is… not quite Friedrich’s. And the facial expression isn’t really his either. (and of course the clothing is off) but otherwise pretty good.
In a short…[Read more]

Whaley, I think the personality is what counts, and you have to admit, if I knew someone like Sniper in real life, I’d be immediately befriending him…to at least keep him out of trouble XD -

Oh, goodie, questions about charries and worldbuilding!
odd question but what kind of accent does Mandin have? I see you’re making a point of sometimes cutting off the g’s at the end of verbs and using “ya” for “you.” I do that myself when writing characters with accents (specifically Southern and Australian/Lower British ones), so th…

So are you strengthening your core to increase your balance in jiu-jitsu or for other reasons? Cuz I’m a volleyball player and have some really good reps for balance… 😏 (only a few core exercises tho)

also, @highscribeofaetherium don’t worry about critiques. While I always welcome it, I’m not specifically looking for it this time. I just need to know someone’s actually reading it and I didn’t just waste two years of my life obsessing way too much.

I haven’t been really motivated to write recently, especially with my WIP, Guardian Angels, so, I was wondering if any of you would like to read my first eight chapters. I’d like thoughts of any kind. Thanks guys.

Yeah, I mean, I personally prefer that whoever I’m talking to would make eye contact as well, or at least try to. But as long as they’re not like, staring at the floor or clearly not even looking at me, then I’m not offended or anything.
I do believe consistently making eye contact takes practice and i…[Read more]

@freed_and_redeemed something just happened that I had to share with someone.
For the first time in a long time I felt the urge to read my Bible. I keep my Grandma’s old NKJV near where I sleep for such rare occasions, and after reading a couple passages in Psalms she had bookmarked, I noticed a pink envelope behind the front cover of the Bible,…[Read more] -

That makes sense.
I honestly kinda exist in a grey area in a way. For Guardian Angels, Nahim is already the Wondian equivalent of a Christian, but after the tragedies that struck his family and home, he’s turned his back. I don’t believe you can loose your salvation. I’m not an extreme Calvinist, but I do have calvinistic b…[Read more]

So, as I said, I’m just debating the opposite side from you, so I most likely do not believe what I’m saying. In fact, I’m personally more inclined to agree with your side.
Oh, also, I’m gonna ask someone to stop us if we get too heated. I have a tendency to do this when I really get the ball rolling. @ellette-giselle If Whaley…[Read more]

Yes and No. I haven’t been able to find my style yet, but that drawing is part of the process of finding it. I’ve been doing different styles lately, both honing my observations to paper skills and looking at many styles. I think mine will end up being similar to that one in the end though, since I’ve started to really enjoy t…[Read more]
