@sparrowhawke Haha, yup. And knowing me, I’ll probably end up with ANOTHER trilogy in the mix at some point.

Thanks! I write mostly about faeries and humans, since those are the main two races in the book. But within the category of “faeries” there are elves, gnomes, dwarves, sprites, pixies, naiads, dryads, half-blood/hybrid faeries that are a…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke *oh shoot i didn’t mean to type mana on the summary for THBoH XD it’s called aera, just clarifying 🙂

Also, aera IS NOT magic. It is power (for lack of a better word) granted to the faerie races by God so that they can protect themselves, heal, etc. It’s just their natural God-given defense like a porcupine has quills and a bear…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke Sorry this is a late reply! I meant to detail my series earlier but we ended up going out and I didn’t get time. >:P

So. Just sayin’…. you asked for this. XD Now, I trust y’all on KP, but obviously please dont steal my intellectual property or anything, blah blah blah. ;P I’ve spent a few years on this XD

So this is my series in…[Read more]

That’s pretty rough. But a good idea for honest critique…

So, my friend read a short story of mine once. You must understand, this friend was very nice and polite. But after reading my story she kinda cringed, looked at me, and said she’d get the edit back to me later. Yea, so a couple weeks later she hands me my book and it’s…[Read more]

Oooh, I like it. It makes me think and struggle to say what I think about my thoughts. Confusion is common in my mind.

I don’t have much critique on this subject. But, this makes me think you’d enjoy one of my favorite quotes tho.

    “Oh, it’s a case of, they’ll think I’ll think that they’ll do…[Read more]

that’s cool! I didn’t know that abt the mbti.

Percy Jackson is great. The first few books and most of the HoO books are the best, I think. Magnus Chase and Kane Chronicles are pretty good, but weren’t enough for me to finish them, ig XD. The writing, the plot holes, the timelines, yea, they could be better, I’ll admit. Trials of…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke Haha, mood, it’s so frustrating to chase after those little plot bunny troublemakers >:P OH MY WORD THAT SERIOUSLY SOUNDS SUPER COOL THO. I looooove messing around with tropes XD Count me in as a future beta reader for you! 😉 Sounds so good… oh man… VERY COOL.

    W-wait, really? I get to rant…? 😮 Well, all right then!!! I will…[Read more]

    Hullo and welcome!

Lol, I’ve probably watched the Emperors New Groove like, 40 times so far in my life. It’s very good.

Yea, I’m and INTJ actually. Do you know what those letters stand for? I found a cool graph online that shows what it means. Basically you pick the letters based off of words that describe you. It looks kinda like…[Read more]

  • @sparrowhawke Haha yeah I just really like history, I don’t actually know how I got interested in Japanese history–it’s just kinda been something I’ve always been enthusiastic about learning XD

Electric bass was super fun, I could mostly play rhythms and I was in a very small band for awhile, but I’ve never played electric bass for a crowd…[Read more]

Hi! It’s awesome to have you here!

I love TOP as well! My favorite album from them would probably be Trench. Fun fact, my family used to live in Ohio and my sister went to school with Tyler and Joseph from TOP for a few years.

She remembers passing them in the hall but they were never friends. When I was little I remember her…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke Ah yes, it seems it was eaten by the Forum Balrog. 🙁 But I was able to see it on your profile, so fear not! 😉

Heyy, thanks! Haha. Oh, actually, it’s short for Kadotake, which was one of my former aliases! But my close friends on here nicknamed me Kads. XD It fits me better, imo!

Ooooh, all of those sound super interesting!! The…[Read more]

Hey Bethany!!!  (I’m on SE too, but KP is def more active.)  Nice to meet you, I see you’re a lover of Latin!  I’m taking Latin 4 this year which should be fun.  A little about me:  I write dystopian, spy, thriller/suspense books.  I’m an ENFP and my favorite music is r&b and hip/hop.   I go to a classical Christian school, which s…[Read more]

  • @sparrowhawke Yee a lot of classics use first person peripheral, actually! For another work I was debating between first and third and finally settled on first person peripheral. Pretty happy I did.

  • @sparrowhawke Hello! My name is Jodi. I write fantasy, historical fiction, and the occasional dystopian piece. I also like ancient stuff–I minored in history (mostly medieval England, American history, and the entire history of Japan haha) when I was in college.

I like music too. I play piano, sing, and used to play electric bass! My favorite…[Read more]

  • @sparrowhawke Hellooo! So, I think you should choose your tense based on how close/far you want the reader to feel to the main character, the MC’s feelings, and how immediate you want the events of the story to feel.

First person present makes the reader feel like they are right there in the story, with things happening to them just the same way…[Read more]

  • @sparrowhawke Greetings! I remember Blimey Cow vaguely from years past, but since a while ago I have not watched them. Twenty One Pilots I do love, as well as The Emporer’s New Groove.

Your name sounds familiar; are you on Story Embers as well?

  • @sparrowhawke I am a big believer and an astute follower of third person past. First person only occasionally, and always in past tense. Sometimes second. Been trying out peripheral first lately. But yeah, no, I don’t like first person present.

  • @sparrowhawke For all of my contemporary stuff, I use first person present. It does require a bit of practice to get the hang of at first, but once you know your way around the tense, it can work really well. So I’d advise picking that one, but that’s just me. 😛

Hey! Welcome to KP! I’m honoured to be the very first to welcome you to the Kingdom. You’re going to love it here! My name’s Grace, though most round here call me Kads. 😛 Hey, fellow high fantasy writer over here! *holds out hand for a high five* What’s your current work(s) in progress about?

I’m gonna contrast you over here–I’m…[Read more]
