@sarah-h I don’t like the Phantom of the Opera, but there is one song in there, “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” which is nice by itself. I will be singing it at my singing teacher’s end of year concert. 🙂 It is very difficult. (But fun too) 🙂
@clairec *pats you on the shoulder* Theatre blues, terrible things. I’ve heard that song before. 🙂 -

@Jess, that sounds like a terribly wonderful idea about the inventor. I love it!!
And being a “let’s see how this goes” type of writer is great sometimes, because sometimes neater ideas come as you go, rather than all planned out. 🙂
And if I know what, tell you? Where the inventor is?
Haha, well that’s for you to find out, I guess. 😀So how l…[Read more]

This sounds really neat, @Jess.
Question: do all five of the kids each have all five abilities? I didn’t think so, but the way you said it in this post made it sound that way.
Also, why are there only five kids? If the original testers have had kids, did they only have one each—and how many years has it been?
If there are only five, why would…[Read more] -

@sarah-h, It was a mock/practice audition for my musical theatre classes (which are unfortunately now over) *sinks down into a heap on the ground* *sobs heart out* But it was conducted exactly like a real audition, so it was pretty intense. (and nerve racking!) It was heaps of fun, though. I sang a Latin song, ‘Pie Jesu’ by Andrew Lloyd Webber. If…[Read more]

Oh nuts. That’s too bad.
There are only so many names in the world, though; sometimes you can’t help using the same ones (if it just fits too perfectly, of course)! :You could try looking up on Google names beginning with the letter you want, if you know what linguistic origin you want; i.e., ‘danish names starting with p’
That can be really…[Read more] -

@jess Dalton is a major character in book 3 of the knights of Arrethtrae. And then he is in book 4 too.
What time period is your story set in? -
Emma Flournoy replied to the topic Plot help please! in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 10 years ago
Oooh, I really like Dalton!! Do that.
If you want to. 😛Hazel’s not too bad; I like it a lot better than Rylee (or Ryder—whichever is the girl).

@Jess, I don’t really HATE the names, though I don’t really like any of them. You asked. 😉
My favorite of the names is Jax, though; his name sounds like he’d be a nice character.
Also it’s kinda hard to tell which are male and which are female, if you don’t know.

Shucks, @Jess. 😉
Maybe the parents got taken by the government because they went outside the city boundaries for some (important to them, but illegal nonetheless) reason?
And then perhaps the kids want to change the government because if it’s oppressive enough to imprison people simply for leaving a city (though the fact that those people are…[Read more]

@sarah-h. I can only assume you’re referring to my long silence! 🙂 If so, I was just taking some time off last week, as I had an audition coming up which I had to prepare for. It’s over now, though. 🙂

hmm, I echo @bluejay, Love writing it, but can’t critique it. I got here a little late to join the party, but I agree with just about everything everyone else has said. Nice poem! @overcomer

@sarah-h I’m going to stop now. I wrote 447 words (I think.) 🙂 But I’ve run out of ideas. I was writing 100 words stories which were fun, though.
