@skredder I actually got this book for Christmas. I’m only a few chapters in, and it feels like the story’s been a little slow in beginning. I was actually thinking of reading a couple other books before finishing it. But it seems you really like it, so maybe I should just keep going!😊

@Skredder First off, hi! I don’t think we’ve met.
And second, YES, the Persian technique is really cool. I actually forgot about that. (Though I do disagree about only being able to hold a drawn bow for eight seconds. I know a girl who shoots with a standard recurve, and she says she’s able to hold it fully drawn for at least a minute.)

Oh, and @skredder The themed wedding is a cool idea, but I think themes weren’t as popular back then as they are now, and it would only be 5-7 years after the era in the picture, so it would be more likely to seem out of style than themed, if they did such a thing. 🙂
@itisastarrynight Yessss, you’re right. Not many people would notice. But I w…[Read more]

@skredder Thanks for the ideas. I just researched a bit of what you were suggesting, and found that in the 1930s, the Hollywood industry was secretly very pro-Nazism, but by 1941 they had completely flipped and supported the American end of the war very much.
In the 1950s there was the “Hollywood Blacklist” a figurative list which an actor,…[Read more]

@itisastarrynight @radically-surrendered @kylie @skredder Thanks so much for your help! I actually used all your ideas to piece together something that might work:
First of all, turning down someone or breaking off an engagement would offend Aunt Maude, yes, but that wouldn’t really explain why Alice or the other girls wouldn’t like her. Th…[Read more]

Hi everyone, I have a story I am working on – it’s about 2000 words long, but I have a major problem…
There’s something wrong with the main character which makes people not want to associate with her. I just don’t know what it is! Here is what I have written so far. Does anyone have ideas?
I don’t want it to be something she has done pe…[Read more]

@skredder I love Janette Oke! I don’t like T. Davis Bunn as much, but the summary of that book sounds interesting, so I will definitely look it up.

@skredder I don’t have any thoughts on how you could continue your story.
But I think the ending/climax is one of the most important parts of your story. it isn’t just about trying to find a way to make everything wrap up. It communicates a point to the reader. Here are a few ideas that hopefully could help you at all.
What are the results of your…[Read more] -

@skredder Yikes, that does not sound easy. :O *throws confetti in honor of your bravery in undertaking such a momentous task* 😛 Research is probably the number one reason I have always given historical fiction a wide berth in my writing. *shudders* XD Good luck with your stories!

@jenwriter17 Thanks! I like using a British accent too, but I mostly do it when I’m singing, rather than talking. 🙂
@radically-surrendered and@skredder I’m glad you liked them! As I said before, their sole purpose is to make people laugh. 🙂
@sam-kowal Hahahaha!!! 🙂 Which one did you like best?

@aislinn-mollisong 🙂 Great. I think making challenges for the dragons as characters could be an important thing in general. Also, building off of @skredder ‘s idea, what if the dragons had to stay in hiding the whole trip? Sort of the same as being forbidden, I just thought I could add that maybe almost everywhere Amber and Brendan travel, the…[Read more]
