@jenwriter17, @rochellaine, @clairec, @seekjustice, @catwing,
thank you all for your prayers. I want to write more about how much they mean to me, but right now I don’t know how to express them. Look at that, a writer can’t write 🙂 . But thank you all so much. It means a lot

@alia I might be on tonight, but it’ll most likely be late. How late do you wanna stay up? (can’t let @rochellaine and @seekjustice have all the late night fun 😉 )

@catwing, @jenwriter17, @rochellaine, @seekjustice, I’m writing and listening to Broadway Mary Poppins. Anyone want to join me?

@seekjustice Sorry, I forgot it was Sunday for you. Oops… Thank you!
(You’re right it was. I don’t think I said I invented the term did I? …) -

@alia That’s okay. 🙂
@rochellaine Well, that is sort of what I do so. 🙂 but not much help. Oh, well. @seekjustice what do you know about character arches? -

@catwing That’s something I’m not very good at myself, since I had several people tell me one of the guys in my last book had a really quick change of opinion which should have been explained better. That was two years ago, though, and I think I’ve gotten better, but I can’t tell yet since I haven’t finished a book yet.
However, I would assume…[Read more]

@seekjustice The long list of books to read… *shakes head* I know exactly what you mean.
Yes, so if something happens, you should have plenty of time to warn us. Can I trust you to do so? 😛
(There are definitely people that uneducated. I’ve seen lots of similarly ridiculous quotes. 😛 )
I’m going to say goodnight now. Talk to you later!

@seekjustice Ah, I see. 🙂 Irrational fears always seem to be the worst.
It’s been a while since I read most of Henty’s books (we have the full collection, or possibly minus one or two) and I don’t remember that one well. I think it wasn’t one of my favorites. I have three favorites, and one of those three was the one on the French Re…[Read more]

@seekjustice “tyrannical rule of the Shetland ponies?” Haha! Sounds intriguing. In what manner, exactly, are ponies tyrannical?
Which book do you have? Oh, well, the one I was referring to is Dale Robertson. He’s not far above a lot of other favorite actors I have, but he’s the one I’ve “picked” to be at the top of the list right now. 😛 …[Read more]

@seekjustice I was just reading where Chessy disapproves of Justice’s methods of trickery and bribery, but for some reason doesn’t disapprove of his plan to kill people… 😛 Yeah, I know that’s not really what’s going on, but it just reminded me of this:

@seekjustice The Haitian revolution is very horrible and very interesting. It has many similarities to the French revolution. I first heard about it in a G.A.Henty book. (Have you heard of Henty? He’s extremely popular as a historical author among U.S. homeschoolers) I later watched a movie about it, and absolutely loved it. (It didn’t hurt…[Read more]

@seekjustice Well, since I’ve never read Les Mis fully, I guess I didn’t notice the time period much. I probably would be able to tell if I read it in-depth, since, as you say of yourself, I am also a history nerd. 😛 Okay, so this is after Napoleon, right? I actually don’t know much about Napoleon, either, except as he has to do with the Ha…[Read more]

Bye @seekjustice I will be reading your blog! 😀

@seekjustice Haha, okay. I thought that it was set during the French Revolution. I don’t know a lot of French history, mostly where French history interconnected with the history of other countries. What exactly happened in the 1830s that Les Mis was set during that period?
Okay, so about Jean leaving Chessy in the trench, yeah, he should pr…[Read more]

@seekjustice Um, yeah, but children’s rights hadn’t been discussed yet in the 1700s…
Setting your story in the present day/future means that the cultural things won’t all match up with the circumstances in Les Mis. Such as the thing I talked to you a long time a go about, with Sapphire being looked down upon, which is not so much a thing…[Read more]

@valtmy I’m not sure…I think it was the part about the party where she was talking to all her brother’s friends and embarrassing herself by not knowing the meaning of the poetry. 😉
Anyway, we’ve already established that we enjoy different types of humor, right? 😛 You need to have your humor carefully explained and diagramed, while I prefer…[Read more]

Hmm I guess that makes sense. I’m calling it a parody because that’s the closest thing I can think of for now. I’m trying to strike a delicate balance between drama and comedy. In some ways being over the top is good but I’m also deconstructing some of the cliches and sometimes that calls for being more subdued and…[Read more]
