@seekjustice You should definitely read the novel. The Princess Bride happens to be one of the very few stories with which the movie and book are equally good. But the book is very different from the movie.
Well…I’m wondering where the love/hate relationship with the movie comes from, in that case? 😛 Glad you don’t think ridiculous is ne…[Read more]

Awesome, I’ll check these out. Thank you! 🙂 I’ve heard of both Singin’ in the Rain and Oklahoma! but I don’t know much about them.
@seekjustice I have seen Mary Poppins and I love it. 🙂
Not sure about the magic part, it depends. As for scary, well, I believe my siblings could handle it. 😉

@rochellaine Outlining my dystopian (a.k.a. trying to figure out the characters’ personality types 😛 )
@seekjustice Yay! I can’t wait to find out more about it. 🙂

@jenwriter17 Daughter of Judas. 😉 How about you?
@seekjustice Have you ever read the book?
Also…huge question here: When did ridiculous become a negative thing?

@seekjustice Is your new novel for NaNoWriMo? My brother’s an ISTJ, so lemme know if you have any questions. 😉
Okay, I’ll keep praying!
@rochellaine I’m sorry if I keep asking you this and forgetting your answers, but what family-friendly musicals can you recommend? I’ve watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

@jenwriter17 @seekjustice I got distracted reading about The Princess Bride, but I’m back now. 😉

@seekjustice Ah, you are older! *bows to my elder* 😛
What are you working on? Has there been anymore rain in your area (or areas that need it)?

@seekjustice Hi! 🙂 I feel like I haven’t been able to be on here as much lately.
Did your birthday already pass? If so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Mine is tomorrow, and I was wondering how far we were apart, and who was technically older. 😛

It’s ok. It was getting towards the end of the day for you right? 😛
I’m up early so I have a little time but I have to go off for work soon.

Haha. I noticed that my story set-ups are always such that they look like romance novels when they are really, really not romance novels.
For this story idea, I’m thinking of a book series that covers different but related murder cases and culminates into a finale that addresses the overarching story and mystery. The whole a…[Read more]

*sigh* I hate reading “But you’re a woman!” scenes so if I have to write one myself, I’d rather not write the story at all. And IÂ really have no interest in tackling all the issues of the period like war, revolution, industrialization, colonialism… I mean, I just want to write a murder mystery, not a social critique.
Yeah, I have…[Read more]

I went to check. Marie Curie lived from 1867 – 1934 in Poland and France. She went to boarding school as a girl but but was rejected by regular institutions for higher education because she was a woman. Instead she went to a clandestine Flying University, a Polish patriotic institution of higher learning that admitted female…[Read more]

Haha but if I make my MC an upper class woman you wouldn’t like her, would you? 😛
I’m trying to see if there’s any place and period in history where it wouldn’t be so unheard of to have a woman to be educated and working as a procurator. I’m thinking maybe the early modern period because I think that’s when women began going to…[Read more]

I have heard of the Brother Cadfael mysteries but never read them before. Are they available to be read online?
One thing that is stopping me from really considering this story idea, though, has to do with deciding on the setting. I want the setting to be based on a society that is historical but also one that is relatively…[Read more]

Haha that’s good to know.
Unfortunately, the other historical adventure/fantasy story idea I currently have has to do with upper class characters as well. But I have another historical story idea that is sort of like a mystery/detective story. I’m thinking that it will be about a procurator who is charged with the investigation and…[Read more]

I’ve just got to pop back in here and say it’s hilarious that you have Joe Bloggs in Australia. In America we have John Does. 😛
(At least I assume that’s what you meant by Joe Blogg.)
I will definitely answer your questions about his-fics in our next conversation. 🙂 Goodnight!

Goodnight!
Haha but would you be interested in reading my WIP anyway? My MC hits pretty much every point you’ve made. She’s noble, rich, whiny and uh… wishes that she is in a romance novel instead of the story that I’m writing. But she won’t remain noble and rich for long 😉

@valtmy Yes, it’s funny – and kinda sad – how wrong modern perception of history is. There are so many things the history books just don’t tell you, and so many things they tell you that are just fabricated because “winners write the history books.” 😉
Anyway, I’ve got to go now. Goodnight!
@seekjustice Rochellaine’s next mission: Think of h…[Read more]
