Hey, anyone want to get distracted with me? 😎
(Just kidding, you don’t have to get distracted, exactly. . . If you can help it.)

@seekjustice I have! I like Treasures of the Snow and Twice Freed. Which ones are your favorites?
I don’t know if they’re meant to be parodies or just references, but each book does seem to have a themed connection to some big well-known tale. I’ve never read the Lord of the Rings books, so I wouldn’t have recognized that one. There were a c…[Read more]

@seekjustice Well, I believe they’re aimed toward younger kids. They’re not amazing, but they’re cute. The Seven Sleepers series is really confusing and badly organized, but makes more sense once you notice that each book is a parody of some legend or famous story, including Narnia, Atlantis, Star Trek, and others.
My favorite part of R…[Read more]

@seekjustice Well, Edith Nesbit wrote mostly fantasy, right? So, no. 😉 My little sister has a series about a blue and yellow striped dragon. I don’t remember what it’s called, but I think it’s pretty well known. The other fantasy series I’ve read are the Kingdom Series by Chuck Black, Seven Sleepers by Gilbert Morris, and the Terrestria Chr…[Read more]

@seekjustice Let me clarify what I’m sure you already know: I have no problem with women earning money. My opinion on that is just really complicated, and I didn’t like a couple of the themes in Alcott’s books.
Just in case what I said about Alcott was confusing. 😉 I think I just made it more confusing. 😛
Oh, I was meaning to ask you, what…[Read more]

@xonos-darkgrate Oh, cool. I prefer realistic myself, but a lot of the people on the forum like the modern styles. Haha, I was about to ask you what fandom it was for. I guess it’s not. 😛
Do you have any writing projects you’re currently working on? (not necessarily at this moment, just ones that are in progress.)
@catwing I feel like I sh…[Read more]

@seekjustice Oh, didn’t I? Whoops! 😛
I used to like boys books way more than girls books, because they had more adventure. Now I like both. We also had a lot more boys books than girls books when I was growing up because I have an older brother… 😉
I like Alcott except for her feminism, but that’s hard to avoid in any case. Jo’s Boys is…[Read more]

@seekjustice I usually look up any new musical you mention immediately and listen to at least a few bars, but I can’t right now because I’m waiting in the back while my dad gives a seminar. (I love it when he gives seminars, because I get to sing while people are coming in. 😉 ) So, I’ll just have to ignore the “music” side of it for now and a…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’m going back to our old question: Have you listened to any new musicals lately? 😉
@xonos-darkgrate Well, if you’re here now, the normal question is “What are you working on?” to start things out. 🙂 So, are you working on anything at the moment? Research, outlining, planning, brainstorming, or actually writing count. 😉

@seekjustice Hi!! That’s okay. I was too. 😉 How’s it going? I’ve been desperately waiting for someone to be actually writing instead of just planning because I need to have some word wars. My book isn’t progressing, and that’s the best way I can think of to force it to write itself. 😛

Thanks though!! @seekjustice

Thank you! This is helpful. I also read an older article Reagan Ramm wrote about cussing in stories, which had some good thoughts.

I have been wondering about the use of swear words in my stories. Â As a Christian, Â is all swearing out of the question? Â Since I write primarily historical fiction, I want my dialog to reflect reality, but I also don’t want to go to far. (An example would be a roman swearing by Jupiter or some other god in his sentences.) Â Any ideas? Â Is ther…[Read more]
