Hi, it’s SeekeroftheTruth.
I’m sorry I haven’t been writing much; it’s just that I’ve had a lot of things on my mind. I thought this would be a good time to ask a question of help for a book. When it comes to writing a Christian allegory (or any Christian-themed book, for that matter), how do you write an autistic person as a main character? I like the idea of the person being a kid. But how do I write or involve autism in a story? I happen to be autistic myself, but it’s not easy to describe it, especially with not knowing which type of autism I have. We pretty much call it “umbrella autism,” due to the many symptoms of different kinds. How do I put autism in a story, without offending anybody else, let alone myself, who are autistic?
