@Daeus I would really like to read it! I’m not sure how much time I will have in the next few weeks, though. Is there a date that you want the reviews posted by?

@spradlin What is the Bible study called? I searched the Girl Defined website, and I couldn’t find it. Thank you so much for telling me about it! I will be starting a discipleship group for younger girls, and I am looking for books to do with them. A study like this one would be perfect! 🙂

That’s neat! I think several people on here also have experience writing dystopian sci-fi, if you ever need help. 🙂 Christian historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, too. It’s so much fun being able to weave real-life stories of people who stood up for their faith, etc. into fiction. What is your favorite time period to write about? I…[Read more]

Cool. I’ll have to look around. 🙂
I agree. I love to go to my history book, open to a page, and create a short story about the person that is featured on that page.
My favorite time period is medieval, like Isabela of Spain. I also like creating historical fiction about characters in the Bible.
I look forward to seeing you too, when I have…[Read more]-
Medieval history is so much fun to write about! Have you ever tried writing a story about a very obscure minor character in the Bible? One of my favorite books is Twice Freed by Patricia St. John, and it’s about Onesimus. It really makes the tiny book of Philemon come alive. 🙂 What are some of your favorite books?

Yes. Have you ever heard of Aksah? She was the daughter of Caleb. You can find her story in Joshua 15:16-19.
I made a short story about her. Some is the key word. I like so many books. But I would have to say that one of my favorite books is: The Hawk and the Jewel, by Lori Wick.

I enjoy writing Christian Fiction. My favorite genre is Romance, Historical, and Sci-Fi. I am currently working on a Dystopian Sci-Fi.

@spradlin Wait- there’s a Girl Defined Bible study? Really?! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Is it part of the book, or does it go along with it? I’ve been looking for a girls’ Bible study for the past few weeks. Do you think younger teenage girls (13-14) would also enjoy it, or is it more for older girls?
-
Sorry it took me so long to reply. There is! It goes along with the book. 🙂 I’d say it’s one that is good for all ages! I don’t really remember there being anything discussed that wasn’t younger teenager friendly, but you can also read all the chapter titles and get a good idea of what you’ll be covering! 🙂

That’s awesome! I have; it’s pretty great! I did the Bible study with Haley Long over the summer actually! 🙂

It just goes along with the book I think. What Haley did with us was she just went though the questions from the webinar (it’s on youtube… maybe.. xD) and then the questions from the end of each of the chapters! 🙂 You could also probably email Girl Defined, and I bet they’d send you leader materials if you ask nicely. xD ;D

I just finished reading A Scandal in Bohemia. It is very well-written! I think Hound of the Baskervilles is my favorite Sherlock Holmes story-line, but the very unhappy ending keeps it from being my favorite story. What did you think of A Study In Scarlet? I liked that one, because Sherlock Holmes is not addicted to drugs yet, and he has a much…[Read more]

@northerner I vastly prefer physical books, especially those with faded cloth-bound covers and crumbling brown pages. 🙂 However, my family travels A LOT, and there is a limit on how many physical books I can own; so for a book lover like me, ebooks are a huge blessing, because I don’t have to tearfully bequeath my library to Goodwill each time we…[Read more]
