@sam-kowal Thanks for your comments.
Are his recollections about his street life irrelevant to what is happening? I wanted to have them in there so you get a little bit of his background, and he uses them to explain why he acts certain ways.
@waterlily I actually agree. 🙂 I never use this type of voice, which is why I posted it here, be…[Read more]

@sam-kowal yeah, it’s really cool! Last time I saw him was when my family went to a Christmas eve service. I told him that I just finished reading his book, I really enjoyed it, and that I was a writer too. He even told me that he would critique the first chapter of my next novel!!! I had to hold in my squeal until I got into the car.
He actually…[Read more]

Wait, hang on, this isn’t what I meant, actually. You know in the Writers Corner, you sign in when you’re currently writing and chat with others? That’s what this is. You sign in, talk about what you’re currently reading at that moment, talk about life, etc.
Sorry!

@jane-maree @sam-kowal Lol, I love David’s metaphors. I cracked up at the “you’re like a potato” part with Megan.

@sam-kowal I had to read Tale of Two Cities for school. I recently finished York by Laura Ruby and Merlin’s Blade by Robert Treskillard. It’s really cool ’cause my family used to go to church with Mr. Treskillard.

@dekreel I think this is a cool idea! I’m like @sam-kowal though; hopefully I’ll remember this while I’m reading.
Anyway, I’m reading Centurion’s Wife and Creating Character Arcs. I kinda want to finish The Centurion’s Wife by the end of this coming week, but I’m only halfway.

Okay, here is a somewhat updated version of my story with another bit as long as the first tacked on at the end. The second half is a little more story and less ramble. I tried to fix a couple of parts some of you mentioned, such as more description, and a little bit of dialogue, and I’d like to know how you think this new version turned out. A…[Read more]

Hey, Kapeefers!
So I had this idea where we could have something just like the Writers’ Corner, except with reading instead of writing. I don’t know if it’s a good idea, or if it will be as successful as the WC, but I’m going to give it a shot.
Here you can chat with other people while you’re reading, just like in the WC. And it will keep you…[Read more]

@dekreel You have to actually click on my friends thing to see them all. For some reason, it’s a few friends off on that little circle thing.
That was…my attempt at a more -professional profile pic. It seems to have failed. XD At least I know your all’s opinions on it. HAHAHAHA! Both you and @sam-kowal and @ethryndal.

@dekreel Okay, here is the google document. You should be able to comment on it.
@sam-kowal I’m glad you like him! If you would like to point out the parts that seem too rambling to make sense, you can comment on the google document. I would like to figure out how to do that without messing up his speech, because that’s who he is. :…[Read more]

Hi, all! I know I kinda recently created a new topic asking y’all the cliches of sci-fi, but this topic is a little different. I’m thinking of writing a dystopian novel. I know this genre can be pretty heavy on the cliches, so my questions is ‘what are the cliches of this genre?’
I know the whole oppressive government thing is kinda cliche, and I…[Read more]

@jane-maree @sam-kowal Hmm… I don’t know how Mizzy got superpowers either. I’m pretty sure the book never says what they were. *scratches head contemplatively*
Fav characters anyone? Mine was Cody. I now understand that my computer works because of the wee fairies livin’ in it. xD

@pickupyourpenandwrite greetings I am Catwing! *throws feathers* Ooooh… I like mysteries, though I mostly write fantasy.
