@jenwriter17 @seekjustice @valtmy @dekreel I’m back. Is anyone here tonight?

@jenwriter17 I’ll probably be on again around 10:30 or 11:00 EST.
I’m currently humming the theme song of the Dick Van Dyke show in my head, though. 😉

@seekjustice Cool! Well, if you get a chance to read the full Viking Quest series, let me know what you think, because I absolutely love that series! 😉
What?!! Got rid of Grace Livingston Hill books?? 🙁 🙁 That’s sad. 😛
My favorite of Ballantyne’s books is The Lonely Island, which is a fictionalized version of the story of the Mutineers of…[Read more]

@seekjustice There are five books in the Viking Quest series.
There are seven more books in the Young Underground series, following A Way Across the Sea, and then there is a series set a few years later which is not really connected except a couple of the characters leech over to make “cameo” appearances. 😉
Aw, too bad. 🙁 Well, when you come…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’m back. 😀
Okay, modern his-fics first:
Have you read the Viking Quest series by Lois Walfrid Johnson? Those have a good deal of romance, but I would say about the level there is in your Infinity series, so not too bad, and they’re definitely his-fics and not romance novels. If you’ve read those (or even if you haven’t) you s…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’m partway through the list, but I’ve got to go. I’ll probably be back in about an hour, and I’ll send it your way then.
Will you be on later?
Bye for now!

@seekjustice My list is in progress, but just a quick question: What do you mean by modern his-fics? Ones that were written recently, but don’t focus mainly on romance to the exclusion of any and all historical accuracy? 😛 (I kind of remember having this conversation with you, but it was a while ago, right?)

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #20 in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 7 months ago
@seekjustice Hm, that doesn’t sound good. 😛
I was supposed to give you a list of his-fics with heroines who aren’t rich and snobby, wasn’t I? Would that make the day go better? 😉

@catwing @jenwriter17 Sorry I missed you! 🙁
@seekjustice I’m on now for just a little bit, then I might be on later too.
How’s it going?

@rochellaine I’m here. Writing my next blog post… or rather watching Kay do it for me. 😀

@seekjustice I cannot see Chessy as a mother. 😛 A fun aunt, yes, but a mother? Well, I guess she’d be a good mother if she did have kids, I just can’t see her as one right now. 😉
What other guy would actively assist someone else who was planning to take over the kingdom which should by inheritance be his own?
Well, maybe I’ll be able to w…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’ve read several series which had second, third, or more additional series along the same timeline with references to the same characters. To name a few, Gilbert Morris, Robin Jones Gunn, and Lauraine Snelling were all very successful with that. I don’t think it’s a problem, since if people like your books they’ll want to keep l…[Read more]

@seekjustice Well, if I ever decided to fully study it, I’d probably become more interested in it, since I’m usually very invested in what I intentionally study. Right now it’s pretty confusing, but I get the gist of what you’re saying. 😉
I was reading your blog post earlier, and wondering, since you want to make the Infinity series a trilogy,…[Read more]

@seekjustice Yeah, I definitely know what you mean. 😛 There are some people who think it would be a perfect tragedy to be not able to talk to someone for five minutes.
Hm, well, that’s not exactly what I meant. I mean, what if your character’s arc was that he learned to take things as they come, and not expect things to be in little boxes? Wo…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Well, I don’t like them because I don’t trust them, and I think they kind of limit people. I feel like if you tell someone “Hey, you’re an introvert!” they’ll think about it, then they’ll believe you, and they won’t ever try to be an extrovert. They’ll just think, “Oh, I’m an introvert, I don’t have to go out and meet people.” So…[Read more]

@seekjustice You should definitely read the novel. The Princess Bride happens to be one of the very few stories with which the movie and book are equally good. But the book is very different from the movie.
Well…I’m wondering where the love/hate relationship with the movie comes from, in that case? 😛 Glad you don’t think ridiculous is ne…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Oh, no I haven’t answered yet. I think you asked me right as I was leaving one night, and I didn’t get a chance to reply.
So, let’s see…
Oklahoma! (1955) by Rogers and Hammerstein is really good. The antagonist is rather scary, but I think you said your siblings have watched mildly scary stuff before, right?
Singin’ in the Ra…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Daughter of Judas. 😉 How about you?
@seekjustice Have you ever read the book?
Also…huge question here: When did ridiculous become a negative thing?
