@Overcomer I hope you don’t find this weird, but I just wanted to share some verses with you that I always found comforting.
“For the Lord will not cast off forever. Though He causes grief, yet He will show compassion according to the multitude of His mercies. For He does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.” –Lamentations…[Read more]

I try to write a tiny part of myself into each of my characters, so I’m not dealing with someone I totally don’t understand. If that isn’t possible, I write someone I’m really close to into my character, and talk with them about how they respond to different issues and such.

Okay @Aratrea @Daeus, here’s what I came up with.
1. You should only help people if they have something to offer
2. Because of God’s love, we ought to love everyone, even those who don’t deserve it
3. We ought to reach out to those in need because it will make us better people
4. We shouldn’t bother trying to change the world because people…[Read more]

@Sierra-R To be perfectly honest, I don’t really hate it as much as I sound. There’s just some very twisted part of my nature that appreciates bashing things. 😛 I’m working on it.

@Sierra-R And this is why most people don’t understand Shakespeare. 🙂

@Gabriellemassman Last time I checked, there were about three INTJs on KP, so you make the fourth. And I like to think Ethryndal is elvish–it’s something I made up one day and became rather attached to. 😉

@Audrey-Caylin We’ve all made that mistake at least once before. 😉
@Gabriellemassman Mae Govannen, fellow INTJ! It does my heart good to see another of my rare personality type. I hope KP will be as much of a blessing to you as it has been to me! I’m going to go read that poem now so I can redeem my name of Tokien Geek…

*lowers voice not at all* Of course I’ve seen the extended version. What kind of fan do you think I am?
@Emma-Flournoy Forgive me of such slander! Sackcloth and ashes are forthcoming. 😛
I haven’t seen the Hobbit in a while (a month, to be exact 🙂 ) so I didn’t really remember the Arkenstone not being with him, (capital offense, I know) but n…[Read more]

Hey @aratrea, I have a question: I’m trying to come up with Experiments in Living, and I’m finding that most of them look exactly like possible answers to a Focusing Question. How do I know the difference, is there a difference, or am I doing something completely wrong?

@Emma-Flournoy I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the extended edition, but there was this scene of their funeral and *lowers voice confidentialliest* it was even worse than their death. I bawled. I bawl just thinking about it. And I agree, it would have been much more satisfying (if I can call it that 🙂 ) if their death was more book-like. Book…[Read more]

@Daeus Good job on that, you made me laugh out loud, which I rarely do. Obi-Wan on a broomstick… I’m at a loss for words. Though you make a good point; that line was always slightly troublesome. And then in Return of the Jedi, he tells Luke that a lot of truths we hold to are based on our point of view, or something like that. So…was he saying…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy All cheesy lines and triangles aside, I do like Kili. I agree, the whole Thorin Kili Fili thing was great, though I do wish they had developed Fili just a tad more. I think he would have made pretty interesting character, being the heir of Durin’s line and all. We kind of see the pressure that was on him, and how he was trying to…[Read more]
