Hey, @Kayla-Joy! Welcome aboard the S.S. Insanity! Though I would one day like to write a dystopian, I fear that I haven’t done it yet and am unqualified to offer you my assistance. However, I would like to cast my lot in with @northerner and @dragon-snapper and say NO TRIANGLES. Unless it’s absolutely necessary. 🙂

Characteristic Moment: Protagonist finds herself in a position where the greater safety of a number of people is dependent upon her undertaking a perilous mission, but she doesn’t see the point in sacrificing herself for them because she sees most of humanity as selfish, cruel, or just plain unintelligent.
Mash #1: Her good friend tells her that…[Read more] -

@Daeus I would really like to read it! I’m not sure how much time I will have in the next few weeks, though. Is there a date that you want the reviews posted by?

@daeus Happy trails. I got interrupted with a long and heated debate about character arcs with my sister, so I’ll be going a while yet.

@dragon-snapper Well, if it’s any comfort, I doubt you’ll have to do as much rewriting as me. My rewriting entails the entire book. Literally. If it weren’t so sad, it actually be kind of funny. But I hate rewriting, so it’s NOT FUNNY. At all. *gnashes teeth and tears out hair*
Carry on. 😀

@Dragon-Snapper It’s a proven thing. Tell them it represents ‘depth’ or something dramatic but meaningless and they’ll be totally blown away. 😀

@Perfectfifths Forgive me, dear lady. I repent of my grievous injustice toward helpfulness. 😛 Anyway, glad I could be useful.
And thanks. I rather like it myself. 🙂

@Perfectfifths (notice I got the f in there 🙂 ) Alas, I haven’t any suggestions, though I may yet so don’t write me off as completely unhelpful. 😉
Though here is something kind of abstract: Light as more of a physical thing than just sun derived. Light as something you can touch and hold, kind of like the memories in Inside Out. Something you…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper Ha! My problem is exactly the opposite. I plan WAY too much, if that’s even possible, and then my stories never end up getting buckled down because I keep changing things. Which is hilarious, because when I first started writing (2 years ago, to be exact) I literally knew NOTHING about writing, period, and didn’t plan at all.…[Read more]

@perfectfifths Phooey, I missed the f in your tag up there, and I didn’t even catch it. XD Do you know what your story’s going to be about yet? Besides light, I mean.
And I hope you don’t mind that I’m being nosy. I always like learning about other peoples writing endeavors. 😉

@GracieGirl That’s funny, because I just started water-color too. I’ll always be more a pencil person myself, but I agree, the vagueness is great, though my love of it may stem from a less than worthy motivation: When you mess up, NO ONE KNOWS EXCEPT YOU. They say, “What’s this weird blob over here?” And you say, with a nonchalant shrug of your…[Read more]
