@Ethryndal, I didn’t see this until now, but I’ll definitely pray.
Quick Update: My dad’s appointment was rescheduled to today, and they found out that his retina was detaching. 🙁 He’s is going to have surgery today (it lasts about 4ish hours). Praise God that this happened before January first, as insurance should cover the costs! He…[Read more]

Well, here I am again… My dad has always had eye problems, and he’s seeing a black spot that comes and goes. The last time he saw something like this, his retina was starting to detach. He has to go to the ER today for them to check it out. Hopefully it’s nothing serious, but who knows.
I’ll tag some people, @clairec, @spradlin, @kate-flourn…[Read more] -

@rolena-hatfield Thanks! I have not personally read these but I have heard that Prisoners of the Sea and The Printer of Udell’s are really good Lamplighter books! My personal favorites have already been listed, but I also like A Lost Pearle, The House of Love, Stepping Heavenward, and Amy and Her Brothers. I haven’t really started any “writing…[Read more]

@emma-l Wow, 10 years, that’s amazing, Emma! 😀 Are you wanting to pursue a musical career, or writing? (or something else entirely! 😀 )
@rolena-hatfield Yesh, that’s right 😉

@rolena-hatfield I’ll go ahead and pipe in here. I haven’t read them in forever, so I can’t say exactly how good they are, but I remember my favorite lamplighter books being The Prisoners of The Sea, The Rober’s Cave, The Hidden Hand, Hans the Crucified, and Fire In The Sky.

@rolena-hatfield She is Rachel and yes it is. I think that movie is so awesome. I watched it for my first time a few days ago and then a day later I watched it again. 🙂 Haha I love it so much.
Do you remember the eggs being cracked over Tyler’s head? I could hardly stop laughing. There was some great humor in the movie. -

Okay peoples I’m STUCK!!!! I need a title for a story, but I don’t want to give too much away. So basically it’s based on Jane Austen’s novels and Charles is lord of Birchwood, a magnificent estate. His *cough* comes and well, kicks him out, so to speak.
My sister suggested the title “The Annoying Guest” which would work as a chapter title, but…[Read more] -

@rolena-hatfield @kate-flournoy, I was actually thinking of starting based on a solid theme and try to get the ball rolling from there. 🙂 Great thoughts!
@zoe-wingfeather, I’ll have to look into some dialogue prompts. They are fun to read. 😉

@emma-flournoy Oh Emma! For some reason I wasn’t notified of your first (really sweet 😉 ) comment! Of course you didn’t say something wrong! That’s very sweet of you to say and encouraging. Honoring my parents is sooooo important to me (as it should be) but very difficult to do sometimes. My posts have even been convicting to me. (I said this I…[Read more]

“This is a story about two children. Actually, it’s story about two children and a mischievous and slightly sulky door, but I mustn’t get ahead, must I?
At birth these two children were given the names Nicholas Wilbur Rothelburg and Scarlett Jaylie Rothelburg. They also happened to have been given these names at almost the exact same time, on the…[Read more] -

@bluejay Yah, I cried too, at the beginning, when I knew his parents would die cause how else would he get stranded in the woods, when he had to choose between Elliot and his ‘family’ and even at the end when he found Elliot again. I wasn’t expecting that, but I guess they weren’t happy to leave it like the old one, where he never sees them again.…[Read more]

Okay, so I really like reading other people’s blogs/websites. My favorites are You Write Fiction, Writing in the Light, and Writefury. So I was looking for other Christian blogs to read, mostly about writing, and I wondered if anyone on here has one.

You could just call it “Lord of Birchwood.” I don’t know. Just a suggestion. Or you could call it *Cough*, since that seems to be a theme in your story. 😉
What is the genre?
@bluejay Uh oh… even the KP doctor has a cough. D’you think it’s from all that smoke from my melting the chairs yesterday? 😛
Lords of the Will
Birchwood Problems
The Lord of Birchwood
???
*hands you cough medicine* Sorry, that’s all I could come up with for now.
@dragon-snapper Yes, that smoke was terrible. So please don’t do that again. Ooo cough medicine, thank you. You know, if you were nice tempered, I could take you on as a nurse. 😉
@his-instrument Hehe. The genre…hard question since I’m not great with genres, but just think Pride and Prejudice. 🙂
How about “The Will of Birchwood”?
Or does that sound too much like a name???? :S
@bluejay
The title “The Birchwood Will” might work, if you think that “The Will of Birchwood” doesn’t work. 🙂

Hmm…a second on Lord of Birchwood.
hmm, I’m not sure, but here are some questions that might help you choose.
What lesson does the character learn?
What’s one word that could sum up the story’s conflict?
Is there anything extremely unusual about your characters or the situations they find themselves in?
What are common words used in titles for the book’s genre? (romance, I assume.…[Read more]
