Well then, congratulations again! I often forget to separate chapters while I write, but I do the same thing with word counts and scenes. So, hooray! I’m glad you are excited. Without excitement it’s really hard to write anything… 😉 (Who’s speaking from experience? Me? Nah…um…yeah… 😛 )

Congratulations!!! But…I’m terribly sorry; I didn’t know that was a particular milestone? Did I miss something? 🙂
Or are you just excited because you got a lot done?-
Just really excited. I have been stuck on chapter 5 for quite a while. And, hopefully, I am just a few chapters away from being halfway

@alia Trying to make me feel better? haha. 😛 Oh well, if I could actually think of things to write I could write the posts pretty easily. It’s coming up with topics that’s hard. I guess I’ll learn once I get more used to it.
Okay, happy writing! I’ve got to get going and go get myself gone. 😛 It’s late. (It must be late, if I’m feeli…[Read more]

@alia Unfortunately, no. I am not having an easier time. 🙁 My novel and short stories have not progressed more than a few inches down the page over the past few days. I have great plans for them, however… 😛
By the way, how is it even possible to write two blog posts and start three more in a day?! I feel happy if I figure out how to wri…[Read more]

@alia The barn raising scene is amazing, of course! It’s really funny, especially the expressions on the brothers’ faces, but the acrobatics are so cool! For lyrical songs I actually like the more upbeat ones, because they’re funnier. 😉 Sobbin’ Women, Bless Yore Beautiful Hide, and Goin’ Courtin are probably my favorites, but I do like Wo…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Well, apparently she likes Edelweiss, but nothing else. She says they’re boring. The reason, I believe, is that she likes songs from which she can tell the plot as they’re singing. Songs like in opera, where the people sing, “We must go and kill the king,” instead of, “isn’t it fun to always sing.” 😛
I like songs that you can si…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Well, she doesn’t like the Sound of Music songs. 😮 So she has a different type of musical taste than I do. 🙂 I don’t like Annie Get Your Gun because the story is so inaccurate compared to the real Annie Oakley…but I’m actually a hypocrite, since I like a different Annie Oakley movie which is also historically inaccurate. I l…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Haha. 😀
Oh, too bad. Or, too bad for the characters. Not too bad for you. 😉
My characters aren’t really doing much of anything right now, since I’ve not been doing as much writing over the past few days. I have the next part planned out and am trying to get to it, but I haven’t been working very hard. 😛
Been listening to an…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 It went pretty well. I got to talk to several people. I’ve looked up expectations for book signings online and I think I did well according to the estimates I’ve seen. I only sold three books, but apparently book signings are not about selling books but about getting your name out, and I think I did that. 😉
Still plodding sl…[Read more]

@seekjustice Okay, too bad. I guess it’ll be goodbye until Monday/Tuesday, then. 🙁
I actually don’t like that song a whole lot either. Oh well.
We found a couple. We want to have a whole lot of songs we can sing together. Right now we know a couple of duets from Sight & Sound, which are good, but they don’t sell the sheet music so we can…[Read more]

@seekjustice Haha. 😉
I had to disappear for a bit to get dinner started, but I’ve got twenty minutes right now, so…hi!
Did you like Little Women, the musical? I haven’t listened to much yet, but I haven’t liked what I heard very well so far. 🙁

@seekjustice Okay, well I’ve been thinking about it, and maybe the best thing to do would just be write him the same as you would write an Australian, and then let your beta-readers tell you if there’s anything that sounds weird.
It’s hard for us to think of specific instances of slang or whatever, and if we could, you’d have a hard time keeping…[Read more]

@skredder 🙂 Hooray for shattered trust! An author’s key to wonderful anxiety and emotional impact on our characters.
But I’m going to go now, I think. It’s getting late. Goodnight! Have fun with the heart-to-heart!

@skredder A heart-to-heart? Oh, that was the most terrifying part of my last book for me to write! I had been planning it from the beginning and had it all perfect in my head, and then when I finally got to that scene I completely forgot everything I had planned. 🙁 It turned out okay, but though I can’t remember what I had planned I’m still su…[Read more]

@skredder I’m editing my western, which is also going at a slower pace than I’d like. 🙂 However, my pace is not at all steady, so congratulations on that score. 😛
How are your characters behaving?

@seekjustice Are you going to be on tonight?

@seekjustice Oh, haha! I forgot he was deaf! Second what @skredder just said. In ASL he wouldn’t use as many slang words, but if he knew them before he got deaf he might write them.
Though writing slang isn’t as common, since most people tend to be more formal in writing than in speaking.
However, since he’s in Australia he might just de…[Read more]
