@r-m-archer @joy-caroline Okay, um, I think it would probably be best if we stop this at some point…I understand where you’re both coming from. I believe that both the Calvinist and the Armenian views hold truth in them. Each side emphasizes a different viewpoint of the subject, one being God’s control and sovereignty, and the other being…[Read more]

I’ve definitely heard good things about those games! I’ve only played Ocarina of Time and a bit of A Link to the Past, myself, but I know people that have played others! 🙂
The fairy-wing design of the faemà tle… I made it rather because its name meant “fairy flute” and I kind of wanted the instrument itself to show that!

When taking a look at that Isaiah passage, I think it might be important to note the difference between God’s will and God’s heart for his people. Certainly God longs for the Israelites to turn back to him. But he ordains that they do not, from what I can see in Scripture, for purposes of his own.
I think there’s a d…[Read more]

@r-m-archer I definitely love Legend of Zelda, and have written fanfiction that nobody else is permitted to read. XD Who’s your fave character from it/fave game in the series?
My instrument is called the faemà tle! It’s similar to a six hole ocarina, but is more compact and has fairy wing-like bumps on the sides. It roughly means “fairy flute” in…[Read more]

I love world-building, too, it’s definitely fun. My favourite part of being a fantasy author is scripting the characters and their environment: the things they say, do, use, basically their lives. One thing I struggle with, though, is if I get a great idea and want to write another book! Like, c’mon, great ideas! I already have S…[Read more]

Hi! Now while I write just about everything, I do love writing fantasy. I agree with @r-m-archer, I love how you can reflect truth through fantasy. The part I have the most fun writing in fantasy is creating currency types and fantasy creatures. Particularly unicorns, kelpies, and centaurs.

So glad I’m not alone on the predestination side of things ; )
@devastate-lasting Thanks for tagging me : )
@r-m-archer So, when it comes to attaching “san” to the end of a name, it depends on the situation whether you attach it to the surname or first name. In intimate settings, I’m called “Libby-san” or more often “Libby-chan” by my elders…[Read more]

@r-m-archer It ought to be attached to the surname. @libby knows a lot more about Japanese culture than I do, so you can always check with her as well!

I have a very academic friend who got into a “debate” (I think it was friendly?? but definitely heated) with his bible study on the topic of predestination (they were mostly for, he was against) and ever since then it’s been a banned topic amongst my fellow youth leaders, because he’s so passionate about it. My church does…[Read more]

@r-m-archer In Japanese there are honorifics, most commonly “-san” to denote Mr./Mrs./Ms., so for example, I would be called “Zhang-san”, I think. In Chinese we use “xian sheng” for “Mr.”, and it’s usually formatted as “surname” + “honorific”.

@r-m-archer Not sure why my post didn’t go through ahh… Well, which cultures are you looking to combine? Japanese and Korean cultures stem from Chinese culture…so combining/not combining shouldn’t be that much of an issue…one thing that I think would give authenticity is that in most Asian cultures, (at least these three) the family name…[Read more]

Ah, predestination… I believe in it (so don’t start formulating an awesome argument to rip mine apart, lol), but it’s a constant argument at my school. I’ll definitely be reading that article to see if I can try and persuade some people… 😉

@r-m-archer, thanks, that’s super helpful
@gracie-j, I think the thing that you said that was the most uncommon thing that I’ve heard was the “get integrated with the community.” (*cue social anxiety*) Can you explain how to start doing that? Even when I’m not 100% sure which publishing route I’m going to take?

Wow! All of this info is extremely helpful, I really appreciate it! I never thought about have specific readers for specific things (for me, I’ll probably need readers who have even deeper knowledge of Russia and natural medicines in nature and etc).
Thank you a thousand times over!
