@theacornman Hi Acornman! Welcome to Kingdom Pen. I’m working on a fantasy novel too. Do you like reading fantasy or sci-fi more? I like reading both, but I think fantasy is way easier to write. (Way less research.)

@aislinn-mollisong That’s my feelings exactly! Though Aliya, my MC, has pretty bad asthma, and she can’t run for 60 seconds without needing to take a break, so that kinda hampers her ability to win it like a boss. Otherwise, she totally would.

@ryanna As @daeus said, you described a setting, not a plot. That said, that doesn’t seem to be a particularly cliche setting to me. Sure, you aren’t the first person to strand people on an island, or have intelligent animals, but adding unique details (like the fact that they live in groups of two or three,) can easily set the story apart.
