@dragon-snapper Hey there!
I haven’t been around for a while, but I was just reading ‘The Legends of King Daeus’
and it’s sequel for the I-don’t-know-how-many-th time! I hope there’s a third part coming. Feel free to ask for inside Aussie jokes if you need them. 🙂 I know @perfectfifths, @anna-brie, @jane-maree, @bluejay (if she’s around) would…[Read more]-
I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed it! I was actually really worried about the second one, but it seems to have worked out. 😀
I’m taking a little break before starting up on the third one, mainly because I have so many other projects I’m working on.
However, for all you Aussies, feel free to post your suggestions and maybe dialect here. I’ll be honest…[Read more]-
@dragon-snapper It shouldn’t be ‘saussies’ it should be ‘snags’ if you really want to use slang. 😛 And Kookaburra…well, it’s not exactly slang, it’s just the name of a bird.

I was trying to tag Kate in something the other day and @perfectfifths spotted the typo. I hate typing on here with my phone…

@perfectfifths Science-fiction is definitely a strange, very broad genre. Some people don’t like it, but it’s the one genre I’ve always felt comfortable writing in. Writing in this genre requires a total exploration of all things weird, but I love it.

@perfectfifths Okay, forgive my silly Americaniness, but what does ‘I’ve never had one snatch a saussie off the barbie’ mean? Does it mean it never took a sausage off of the barbecue? 😀

@perfectfifths I actually have an Australian question for you… I recently read an article about some Australian jargon, and I was curious how wide-spread it was. I can’t remember what it was called… but here’s a sample sentence using it based on what I learned from the article. Do you understand it?
I’m taking the billy-lids on the frog and…[Read more]

Yes, I’ll definitely miss Canada! Being here has made me realize how terrible rude we Americans tend to be…I’m going to strive to be nicer lol!
You live in Australia, right? Very cool. @perfectfifths

@celticcailin @perfectfifths Great!
@northerner Okay, that should work. I’ll send it to you from a word doc, but I think you can probably do your edits in google docs, then just send it back to me. I pretty sure it works both ways. Thanks!@ethryndal *bows* I’m so excited!

@bethanysinkyroses Yes! Some of my readers when I am published probably won’t write it either, so if you like to read poetry, but don’t write it, you can give me all the feedback you want. 😀
@perfectfifths Okay, I think you need to email the kingdompen people here: kingdompenmag@gmail.com, telling them you that that you are beta-reading for me.…[Read more] -

@perfectfifths 1. Be extremely picky. As picky as possible. I want this stuff to be best it can. I already edited it for grammar and other things like that, but it just happen to see something while your at it, I’d appreciate it if you’d mention it.
2. Preferably by the end of the month, but if you still need time, I’m absolutely flexible. If you…[Read more] -

@perfectfifths Not too late! 😀
I do have music for each. The first one is a bit slower than the second. I do plan to record them, I just have to get a half-decent mic. 😀Thanks for your input everyone! I do think I’ll be going with the first one, with the addition of a few edits to make it more organized, and straightforward. Also, good input…[Read more]

Hi, Kapeefers!
So, there’s a contest that I’m entering this month, a songwriting contest, and I’ve not really done this that much before.
Yep, you guessed it, I’m asking for help. 😀
I can’t decide between these two songs, so all you music lovers out there, I could use some critiques. 😀
Which song do you like better and why? And if there’s…[Read more] - Load More

True, I haven’t even seen a koala in the wild. I’ve bumped into a kangaroo though and narrowly avoided them with the car.
Another myth that they may or may not have heard is that our internet runs on gum trees. That’s why it’s so slow.
I’ve never seen a koala in the wild either, @anna-brie.
I don’t think my internet is all that bad. I’m fairly happy with it. Even Steam games, which are fairly big, being a few gigabytes big each, download fairly quickly. 😛
I’ve seen kangaroos in people’s yards if they live in the country.
We have kangaroos in our yard. And our internet isn’t all that bad. It’s not brilliant, but pretty good. It used to be bad, but we changed provider.
I just noticed that you forgot to tag @gideon-sowdon
I see kangaroos on a daily basis. ALSO YAS KOALAS. I’ve seen them reasonably frequently too.
MY INTERNET TOTALLY RUNS ON GUM TREES. XD XD I’ve never actually heard that one before?? But it’s great. I should start mentioning that to American friends… XP
@jane-maree I got that from this blog post. http://paperfury.com/10-things-didnt-know-about-australian-bookbloggers/
@anna-brie oh woww. XD That’s hilarious.
@anna-brie, this is one the best things I’ve ever read. She’s a great writer! ;P I was literally in stitches
Here’s a question. Do you guys have deer? If not, I’m thinking that the American equivalent of kangaroos is deer.
@clairec
@jane-maree
@anna-brie
@leumeister
@dragon-snapper We have deer, but they’re not native, and I’ve never seen them. Unlike foxes. They’re also not native.
@dragon-snapper what Anna said. And the lengthy conversations on deer and kangaroos that I’ve had with Americans I can confirm that they are comparable-ish equivalents. 😛
