Haha.
@perfectfifths @jane-maree @holly-nelson-gray Wanted to ask y’all what books or TV shows you grew up reading as a kid? I want to see if there’s any similarities between there and here, in America.
Although, I’m not sure if Holly is an Aussie? We haven’t talked much…so, hi. How’s it goin? @holly-nelson-gray

A few of you may recall me tossing around this question some weeks ago, but here I am again, and I’ve decided to start a thread for it to get as much input as I can.
Should I start a blog?
I’ve prayed about this, a lot. And I’ve tried to convince that I’m really not the best person to do this kind of thing, but…well, I think God’s got other…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper @perfectfifths Hey! I’m homeschooled too. Being homeschooled rocks, right? And I’ve heard the term ‘unpack’ too, it must be cool teacher slang or something. It can get a little annoying, but there are worse “cool” words. Like, I don’t love the word “dude.” Like, it’s fine occasionally, but hey, when people say it repeatedly……[Read more]

@perfectfifths “Y’all” is more of a southern thing, not everyone in the States uses it. But I do. A lot.

@perfectfifths That does make sense. So, lets unpack the reason why Christian Americans like to use the word ‘unpack’. 😛

@emily-d Oh, yeah. I forgot about that one, though I’ve definitely heard it. There’s also quite a few others now that I think about it. I can remember them now, but if you’ve ever seen the Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the Icelandian uses a few American Slang words with Mitty.
@perfectfifths They do? That’s funny, I’ve never heard that one. But…[Read more] -

@emily-d @perfectfifths Well, the biggest slang I can think of is “ya’ll”, but that’s more of a southern thing. Otherwise, I can’t really think of any either. Really, there are a bunch of different regional accents. Northern, Southern, and Californian.

@perfectfifths Totally! @dragon-snapper I’m sure that I’ve heard some ‘Merican slang-I just can’t think what it is. *sighs*

@perfectfifths He’s so good! 🙂
@dragon-snapper Question: What slang do you think Aussies use? I was just intrigued!

@perfectfifths Gotta love the Man from Snowy River. D’ya like Clancy of the Overflow?

@dragon snapper LOL! Perhaps. True-blue, fair dinkum Aussie slang can be pretty rare…you’d probably find that if you came here and started speaking what you believe is “normal” here, you might be surprised. We’re don’t use it as much as you might think, I think we just make out like it’s this massive thing to tease you Americans. Gotta say…[Read more]

@perfectfifths @emily-d Or maybe Americans are the ones using said slang. At least, I don’t think we do…

@that_writer_girl_99 @dragon_snapper @perfectfifths You’ll never believe this, but I was just wondering a couple of days ago if Americans think we use weird slang all the time. I can’t believe this!!! So, um, do we? I don’t think so. @perfectfifths will verify me. I love Australia!!! The place where we live we see roos all the time, some of…[Read more]

@PerfectFifths I’m exactly the same way. XD It’s easy to spot it in others ’cause I’m like…oooh, yes, I know how they feel. 😛
That’s also one of the reasons I thought he was a J. Something I’ve noticed is that Feeling Judgers—some at least—tend to worry more over how someone’ll react to what they say, and/or be more afraid of hurting…[Read more] -

Oh, Okay… :/ Fair enough.
That’s a good idea about an accountability partner. Should I do it with @perfectfifths, someone else, or with a bunch of people? I’m on the Young Writer’s Workshop Facebook Group, should we all keep each other accountable?

Is anyone else interested in Alpha- and Beta-reading my stories? I’m really needing some feedback, critiques, and encouragement. I’m only really writing on weekdays during the school weeks, rarely writing during weekends and school holidays. I’m not sure I’m motivated. :/
I’ll tag those who’ve already replied to this topic, not counting those who…[Read more]
