@overcomer That’s funny; I hadn’t noticed all the 3 letter names. 😉
What I can’t stand is unrealistic emotion; when it’s not strong enough or doesn’t seem to flow naturally. That, and the overuse of the word ‘said’.

@overcomer it reads like a poem, but in theory it’s a prayer. I love it! Polish it up a bit, and I think it will be absolutely beautiful. 😀

@overcomer Hey, I love that pun!
So we are officially reading through at a pace of two chapters a week, but you can read ahead if you want. All I ask is that you don’t give away any spoilers. Right now we are discussing the first two chapters, but we will be starting the next two on Monday.

So I was laying down, hoping to rest my eyes for just two minutes, when this idea popped into my head for the name for my street team and I had to get back up and write it down.
Legendaires (a combination of the word Legend and Legionnaires)
Now, what do you think. Honest opinion, everyone. Is it cool, or is it cheesy?
How about a few tags……[Read more]

Wow; just wow. Forget what I said because what you’re saying makes a lot more sense! 😉 I agree that you shouldn’t have to fulfill all of the reader’s expectations, just some. That way you leave room for more creativity and an awesome story! By the way, I would totally read that story about the girl and the evil faerie dragonfly! It sounds…[Read more] -

@kate-flournoy Yeah, wouldn’t that just be fantastic. I think I’d completely stop editing by my fourth book. It really does give a good feeling of accomplishment. I was kind of impressed with my scene setting actually, but the pacing was bad, and the conversations were bad, and I used too many adverbs, and my opening paragraph was way too boring,…[Read more]

‘I hammered into Google
‘Christian writing teens’;
It brought me to this awesome site—
The website of my dreams.Excitedly I clicked the link,
And had a look around.
I eagerly perused the forum
And squealed at what I found.I made myself a member
Without a second thought
Sometimes that ends in trouble
But this time it did not…’First we ate ic…[Read more]

That’s great. I agree with you all. So let me put it this way. Here is a topic “Kingdom Pen” Let’s write a poem together. Someone else start as I’m terrible. Write what you can and someone else will join their verses on… and so on. Does that make sense.
@gretald @ingrid @overcomer @daeus (I do agree that the poem was pretty terrible. 😛 ) -

@overcomer You’re right, it is only necessary to have read the book once to participate. I’m not sure that’s what Ivy want’s to do, but that’s an option. Obviously though, a person is going to get much more out of it if they are reading through it at the time of the discussion.

@overcomer I’m so sorry about smashing your hopes. It’s my intention to do that as little as possible, but time is a big consideration. I’m not incredibly surprised that your sister disliked one of the author’s other books. I’ve never read any of his other books, but I know a little bit about him. People often mistake the purpose of Animal Farm…[Read more]

@overcomer I read Animal Farm earlier this year for a school assignment. I don’t know which book of his your sister read, but personally I thought Animal Farm was AMAZING. It’s based on the the self-destructive nature of a totalitarian//communist government, but even if you aren’t a huge fan a political history//strategy it’s still great just to…[Read more]

@overcomer it’s a political allegory— I absolutely loved it. Basically about a farm of animals who decide they’ve had enough with farmers and are going to set up their own democracy and live life fairly and equally… which devolves into utter chaos as the rules keep changing, and in the end… well… I won’t spoil it. It wasn’t a warm fuzzies…[Read more]

Maybe the Hobbit??? (possibly a bit too long)
Thanks @overcomer, you made me think of more: Any of the Chuck Black books, The Kingdom Series or the Knights of Arrethtrae. They are great books. (I haven’t read Cloak of the Light. I’ve still got to wait a bit before I’m allowed that one. 🙂 ) *One day* -

@gretald @faithdk @overcomer Really all that matters is that you think it would be a good book to learn from.
