*drags herself in and flops down in a chair with a wheezing gasp* People… I needs… help… I’ve not been on here lately because I’ve been wading through the climax of my story and that needed extra careful handling so I didn’t want distracting pressure (and it also took a lot longer than I expected. 😛 ). But… I’m here now. Done with the…[Read more]

@Northerner nope. My precious idea is mine own and I shall not share it. *selfishly hoards it all* I will be participating though, and yes, I believe all submissions get feedback.

@kate-flournoy @graciegirl @winter-rose @Emma-flournoy He just passed away. Continued prayers for my brother would be much appreciated. I didn’t know Tom, but my brother was really close to him and this is really hard for him. Thanks muchly.

@Emma-Flournoy Ah, you’re right. Of course you’re right. I actually remember that now, too.
@graceofspades2017 Well, looks like I need to Gnag (pun totally intended) that sister of mine to get the rest of the Wingfeather books from the library! OH YES, the footnotes. I’d forgotten about them. THEY. ARE. BEAUTIFUL. I love them too much. So. Funny. XD

@sleepwalkingmk Yep–literature can be very powerful in that way by helping a reader look at an issue from a new perspective. Knowing what it looks or feels like in other works is a great first step to doing the same thing in your own works!

@Dragon-Snapper no no, you missed it! They weren’t hoping for themselves. They did what they did in hopes that the people who survived them could use it to make a better world. In faith, I guess.
And… I haven’t watched a ton of Disney, so I guess I didn’t have that problem. For myself, I can just say I don’t think I’ve ever related to an…[Read more]

First one up, the alien invasion sub-genre.
You’ve definitely heard of this one before. Aliens suddenly appear on earth. The people on earth go into panic mode. Questions arise. Why are aliens here? What do they want? What do we do? Defend or make peace? What normally happens is the aliens are attacking the earth and we must d…[Read more]

@mark-kamibaya What’s an indie?
@ethryndal I know. The only thing protecting me now are my dragon instincts….and the fact that I’m not alone. I side with @daeus. 😀
@kate-flournoy Well, about the arcs, one reason I didn’t really see them was because they seemed to happen so fast. It didn’t seem like Cassian cared about anything then suddenly…[Read more] -

@emily-d Pumps fist into the air excitedly because she can’t open the forum quick enough I LOVE TINTIN!! I love it more than Calvin and Hobbes!! I’ve got all the books except for the second one, Tintin in the Congo (its’ pretty hard to get, I think, because Herge was ashamed of it) including the unfinished Alph-Art. Have you seen the movie from…[Read more]

@graciegirl Nice job. That looks like a great pairing. When I first read through it, my worry was that answers 2 & 3 and then 1 & 4 both looked kind of similar, but reading through them again, I can see the distinctions you’re drawing there. As long as those distinctions remain clear in your head throughout the book that should work out great!…[Read more]

@graciegirl Yeah–it will get easier the more practice you have at doing this with films and books, but some stories are still tough to analyze in this way!
I haven’t read “The Little White Horse,” so my ability to contribute helpfully here is going to be a bit limited. However, from what you said, it could be that the FQ is something like “What…[Read more]
