@Northerner I would love to, especially as this is one of my absolute favorite time-periods, but I’m afraid my schedule will not allow for any consistent sort of time-table, at least not currently. Keep me on your list of for the future though— I really want to read this.

@r-j-wordsmith *shudders* I’d melt if my book was hidden beneath others.
@kate-flournoy Indeed. I’ve been trying for months to regain what I had been able to do before, write what I love, but I’ve been so caught up in trying to make it world-worthy that I’ve forgotten what I’m actually doing. I read through my old work, and in comparing it to…[Read more] -

@Northerner Aw, thanks. I’m not very far into it yet, but I really like it so far. It’s just one of those books that you find yourself rereading paragraphs several times to make sure you got everything… so yeah, you probably will hear from me again on this subject in the not-too-distant future. 🙂 Thanks so much for the offer!

Hey, @Kayla-Joy! Welcome aboard the S.S. Insanity! Though I would one day like to write a dystopian, I fear that I haven’t done it yet and am unqualified to offer you my assistance. However, I would like to cast my lot in with @northerner and @dragon-snapper and say NO TRIANGLES. Unless it’s absolutely necessary. 🙂

@kayla-joy Hi and welcome! So great to have you! Another great thing is that you brought up a topic that I need to. Thanks!
*sits back and listens to conversation*
@daeus @kate-flournoy *gasp* How could you? *melts your chairs*
@northernerNo love triangles.
Thank you! I thought I was alone here.

If there was a Greek word for “post-apocalyptic gray concrete oppressive state in need of a rebellion and some kissing”, I’m not aware of it.
@Northerner *chokes* Ouch. Preach it. 😛
Now now, though. No story is defined solely by its genre. I agree with your lovely sarcasm, but let us not be narrow-minded here. *clears throat softly* I happe…[Read more] -

@northerner I vastly prefer physical books, especially those with faded cloth-bound covers and crumbling brown pages. 🙂 However, my family travels A LOT, and there is a limit on how many physical books I can own; so for a book lover like me, ebooks are a huge blessing, because I don’t have to tearfully bequeath my library to Goodwill each time we…[Read more]

@northerner Ah, those are some good points. I actually agree with you on most of them. I like seeing my physical books and I like the fact that I can leave them in my inheritance.
And it’s true that part of the beauty of reading is the physical experience. It’s funny you brought that up though, because that’s actually one of the main reasons I…[Read more]

Hi, all!
I wasn’t sure whether to post this in Short Stories or here, so… Yeah. Anyways.
I am wanting to enter a competition that’s here in Australia, and one of the requirements is for it to be no more than 1,500 words. Normally I’d say that’s crazy, however the prize has encouraged me to try the challenge.
I’ve written a short story before,…[Read more]

@northerner @ethryndal I think I’m going to be done now. I wrote 167 words. /Not the best, but better than nothing, I suppose. Thanks!

@northerner Ah, I suspected that was your reason. Ok, well first, I don’t think your genre will change a whole lot. I’m suspect you’re right that there are fewer e-readers there, but there’s still a significant amount. However, that doesn’t affect the issue of hypocrisy much. Well, here’s the question. Why are you against e-readers? If it’s a…[Read more]

@northerner Basically, yes, though the answer’s not quite so simple.
Let’s say when you initial launch your book, you selling a lot of paperbacks but not many ebooks. I’d first ask, what’s making you sell a lot of paperbacks? Well, you’re probably in bookstores or catalogs where people who buy paper books browse. That might be your only…[Read more]

@winter-rose Thanks for the tip on the tags. I would not have figured that out on my own. Yeah, I understand. I have a ton of Word documents, too. I’d suggest printing off all of those documents and putting them in a binder if you can. You might find that easier to use than one big document.
