You know you’re a writer when you narrate your own actions around the house in your head. (“Naomi typed away at her computer, a serious expression on her face.”)
You know you’ve been writing waaaaaaay too much with waaaaaaay too little actual human interaction when you actually say something like that out loud. (Please tell me that I’m not the only one who has said something like “‘I’d like the mashed potatoes,’ she said.”)
I think everyone’s perspective on this is interesting…I’ve always found adding chapters to be one of my least favorite parts of writing.
I’m currently writing a limited third person with two main characters and I’ve always just switched back and forth between them when it felt natural. Recently I’ve started just writing all of the sections with one character, and then I’ll go back in later and add all of the sections with the other character. This has been working super great for my writing flow, but it’s making chapters even harder to figure out.
Do y’all try to keep them chapters the same word count? Are books supposed to have a certain number of chapters? This is the main thing I’ve always felt totally confused about, lol. I feel like in the books I’ve already edited that I just stuck chapters in wherever there seemed to be a cliffhanger! XD
Any advice @sam-kowai @daeus @that_writer_girl_99
@aviantrail Bugs, he’d totally eat the bugs.
@perfectfifths Never have a birthday again–which wouldn’t bother Neeson, because he doesn’t even have a birthday as it is.
@alia This is a hard one–I think Neeson would go with prison, if there was the possibility of escape. The funny thing is at the part I’m writing in my WIP he literally just sprung an ally he can’t stand from prison and is on the run with them…lol*jumps up and down from excitement* I’ve been staying in my serious writing cave too much lately, this feed is what I needed!!
@aviantrail My MC Neeson would totally go for the log
@perfectfifths Watch a movie with subtitles. Neeson speaks multiple languages and is really good with them, so knowing him, he’d probably be guessing what they’re saying without subtitles! XD
@daeus Cave. Totally the cave.
@dekreel It would totally depend on the crime–and why he needed to do it. He’s not above breaking some serious rules if it’s for a good cause, and his best friend/other MC wouldn’t ridicule him if it was big or small. 😀Now I have to think of a question…rats…
Would your character rather have superpowers BUT be a loner who is misunderstood
OR
be completely “normal” in a world where some people have superpowers BUT be incredibly well liked and popular.
As someone who is considering using Elemental powers in an upcoming book, I had to ask: what is the MOST ANNOYING thing you’ve seen done using Elementals? What is the coolest? That would really help me, thanks! @warrioroftherealm @mark-kamibaya @daeus
OOOOOO! I love goals! Is it too late for me to make some of my own?
