@gracie-j Yep! Almost everything is virtual this year or I’d see if there was anything local to me. 😛
LOL. My oldest sister has mostly gotten used to me being weird with writing stuff, but if I ever made comments like that around my parents I think I’d get very weird looks. XD XD
Sounds good. XD

@gracie-j Ooh! I looked it up and apparently Indie Author Day is an actual thing on November 7th! 😀 (Or October 14th? Or 17th? Or… apparently it’s not actually consistent. :P) There’s a whole website and everything, and apparently libraries and bookstores are a big part of it. (I still want to organize some big online thing for next year and…[Read more]

Aw, that’s adorable! And yep, you did, which is amazing. 😛
It’s so cool seeing who your fav characters are, peoples. XD

Same here. XD I have soooo many characters to choose from. And my preference fluctuates, too, based on what I’ve been working on lately and what character types are my favorite at the moment…
But I suppose my current favorite would be the MC of my novel The Half-Elves, Leafman. (Yes, I know the name is weird. I made it up when I was seven and…[Read more]

@gracie-j I like to think that my more recent names are much more… name-like. XD
Yeah, consistency definitely helps. It makes things a lot easier to write. Nissa isn’t so consistent in that way–in fact, I didn’t even expect her to go nearly this dark–but once I understood why she was going off in a random direction and how she actually worked,…[Read more]

@selah-chelyah Ah, thank you!Â
Even though I have no idea what you just agreed to haha@leon-fleming When Eleven talks to people, he comes off as a bit rude because he generally brings up things that he couldn’t have known about. He never introduces himself, and switches randomly from topic to topic. And I’m afraid he’s more on the average side…[Read more]

@gracie-j Yeah, romance can have a lot of those. XD
LOLLLL. Scarlette sounds amazing and terrible all at the same time. She seems like she’d be similar (as far as likability and whatnot) to my character Nissa. She drives me nuts and she’s kind of awful, but somehow still manages to be a… consistent enough character, I suppose? that I want her…[Read more]

Great Scott, man, but that’s an impossible question! (To quote my character Jordan). I guess Jordan right at this moment, just bc he’s the most developed, but there’s no way I really have a favorite out of the myriads of characters I have! XD
P.S. – Do you have a fav OOTA character thus far? 😛
Also @devestate-lasting, I agree and…[Read more]

@leon-fleming Oh hey, you’re back! Nice to see your presence.
Thanks for the tips; I generally stay away from caffeinated things because it does things to my blood, but I’ll keep that in mind. And I recently put Gone With the Wind, The Brothers Karamazov, and The Chosen on hold at my library, so I’m stocked up for the next few weeks or month, th…[Read more]

@leon-fleming As someone who has at least 300 characters from different stories all over, this is a very hard question. 🙂
I suppose I’ll go by story here. Maybe. Or at least sift through the slightly developed ones.
(Half your tags are missing, which leads me to believe that you are tagging nonexistent people. XD)
There’s my central character…[Read more]

Ah, gotcha.
Yeah, it seems like it would work well.
That’s a bummer. Links are nice. 😛
Ooh… Most lovable idiot to read about… probably either Tink from The Wingfeather Saga or Pippin from LOTR. But those are just off the top of my head, because otherwise we could be here a while. XD
Most lovable to write about… Definitely…[Read more]

Ah. Well, learning is fun! I’m currently studying French, so I was curious. 🙂
Oh dear. 😛
LOL. Cool! I’ll check it out. ^-^
That’s cool! The covers for The Codebreakers series and the Ladies of the Manor series are my personal favorite, but I guess those weren’t her designs.
Ooh, interesting! I hadn’t thought to do it the other way…[Read more]

Haha, yes, we did hire him for a reason.XD Oooh, it would be great if you could cook something up! The Kingdom of Pen could always use some fresh poetry.

Kathleen replied to the topic Are you and outliner or a pantser? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 8 months ago
Wow, five years you say? Well, LotR took fifteen years to write, so… maybe that’s a good sign? When it comes to outlining there’s never a very clear set end to it all. You could outline a novel in a day, or in a decade. Just depends on what story your trying to tell and what kind of writer you are.

I would love to give suggestions/critiques however, I’m an absolute beginner when it comes to poetry. Though I’m sure @leon-fleming will have some advice to give.
But I can say from a consumer perspective, I really enjoyed it! I love the message it has, both it’s meaning and that it wasn’t too in-your-face. It’s a poem that you can…[Read more]

Exactly. A cover has to do so much: convey the genre and tone, hint at the plot, be high enough quality for people to assume the book inside is also high quality… (Of course… then there are those books that have beautiful covers and then the book inside is lousy. Those are always a bummer.)
I knowwww. So many characters are idiots.…[Read more]

I might have to adopt “overly observant” for myself, too. XD Whoever said “Don’t judge a book by its cover” either had never seen a truly awful book cover or was just extremely optimistic. XD XD Updating covers is fun! 🙂
Yeahhh, same here. ;P
*nods* It’s hard to turn off, isn’t it? XD I do the same thing. Not so much with plot and…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Yep! The next story is going to be kind of a prequel to this one, but it happens in a small seaside town in a summer where a strange cafe appears, along with some extremely strange people. Totally relaxing. Totally not going to have mysterious disappearances 🙂
