Cool! Yeah I think for me the idea of four wings came from one of the really cool dragons in httyd 2.
Yeah it is fun! Oh man that would be hard. Though I guess with magic you can make it however you want. Does his magic use any of his body’s energy, or can he use it as much as he wants?

oh actually because he doesn’t fly leaving it as it is might not be a problem, he just needs muscles that hold up his wings.

It’s two wings with two layers each. It would be four, but they are fused together at the ends (Yes they do fold and unfold I’ve tested it with a paper model lol)
hmm for a couple reasons actually. Flax has to be super lightweight to fly for one. Usually winged creatures in books are just people with wings, but realistically that doesn’t actually work. He has hollow bones, and a lot less muscle mass than humans do, meaning he can’t walk long distances (Usually he would fly). He is a little underweight because of his sickness (Same one that’s causing him to lose feathers) but being thin is normal for his species. If he doesn’t have excess weight it’s kinda hard to conceal the giant shoulder blades that were necessary for the wing design I made.
I think on top of that some of it is just my way of physically showing the emotions of the book. I really want Flax to encompass the saying ‘broken but beautiful’ and for some reason this way of drawing him just does that (Or at least I think it does).

Thank you!! 😁I drew the underpainting in actual watercolors and scanned it so that’s how I got it to look loose.

I’m still working on this one but I’m so excited with how its turning out I need to post it now 🤭I’ve designed new wings for my oc Flax and I’m experimenting with the idea of him having partially translucent skin.

aw man, that’s ok, rules are rules. I wouldn’t be able to get invested enough writing animals, sorry. If I tried I don’t think I’d be able to keep motivation for it. Let me know if you guys change it though.

oops I totally forgot about this! I haven’t read the rp, is this for animals or is half animal fine? I have a winged oc and another one that has goat horns and lanky/unatural skeletal structure? Does that work?
