@Spradlin I think it’s pretty awesome myself. I had no idea there were so many artists in the community. 😀
@Aysia-Serene this is my drawing of Taren… a lot different style, and I wasn’t able to get the likeness as perfect as I wanted it, but anyway… for what it is. 😉

@aratrea hey Josiah, if I remember correctly, the deadline for finishing the course was the fifteenth… is that still operative? It seems that there are still quite a few lessons to go…

@Aysia-Serene lol, my bad. :’D I should have described it better, but you did well with what you did. 😉

@Aysia-Serene *gasp* I love it! She’s so cute! Her little nose is perfect. Drawing noses is not my forte; I admire anyone who can do it well. 😀

@Ethryndal that’s okay. She is pretty mysterious. 😉 And I love how the light almost looks three-dimensional. Good job.

@I-J-Anderson thanks. 😀 I’m afraid it fails as a likeness, but it was too funny not to post.

@kate-flournoy Looks good. One thing to clarify would be that, since there /can/ be some overlap between the Foil and the Influencer, is that the Influencer needs to be directly trying to persuade the protagonist to come over in order to be a proper Influencer. Simply opposing the hero does not necessarily make someone an Influencer; it just means…[Read more]

Tavalii. Female, twenty two, but small and birdlike with bony hands. She’s a fantasy priestess of a false religion (and she knows its false) who was dedicated to the Temple of the Stars at birth and doesn’t care about herself enough to bother about doing something about any of it. Usually bored. Hates the face-paint and ceremonial wreaths and…[Read more]

@I-J-Anderson I’ve been laughing myself silly over this sketch for about five minutes… Don’t ask me why, but she came to me in caricature and I did my best. *wipes eyes* Here. Have a good laugh.

Take three minor characters in your story and briefly sketch out what their experiments in living are going to be and how they’re going to be related to the story’s theme.

Take one major character who’s neither the protagonist nor the villain and figure out how that character relates to your story’s theme. Develop a character arc for them and determine which of the three paths they’re going to follow and how that path will best complement your story’s theme.

Consider how the villain’s the best person to challenge the protagonist. Then, decide which of the three roles he’s going to fall into. Finally, develop his Experiment in Living and his basic defense of that Experiment.

Ah; yes, this is no longer operative. I was overly optimistic about when I’d finish the course–and it didn’t help that we ended up adding several lessons to the mix! The course should be finished within the next week or so, we’ll probably look at hosting the second Q&A in early April, and will be closing all surveys sometime mid-April, so that’s…[Read more]
Okay, whew! :’D I was getting ready to pull an all-nighter to catch up on the lessons. Not a problem, just wondered. Thanks.
