@Jess Exactly! I’m INTJ too. 😉 But while I’m not heartless, I take a certain amount of gleeful pleasure out of being viewed as heartless, with ice in my blood, etc. Don’t as us, ahem, me why. Yes, I talk to myself in my mind. First person, second person, even third person… *glances to either side warily* Wes not completely insane, preciouses? Are wes?

Ooh, scifi… we can go a lot of different places, then. *grins*
M’kay… first idea. They could invent this virus that spreads by contact of skin to skin— it just has to touch you and then the spores go to work, and anyone else you touch catches the same virus. It’s a powder or something, and even one grain of it transfers the disease to the…[Read more] -

Oh wow, what a topic @Jess. XD
Okay. It really depends on the genre. Tell me the genre, and I’ll see what horrible outlandish things I can think of. 😛

@Daeus opera? Wow… never really considered that as a written thing, but now that you mention it, they are stories, aren’t they? 😛
Music isn’t really all that difficult— if you can read it and have the basic foundation (which learning piano is the best way to build, IMO) it’s fairly easy. Assuming, of course, you have the head for it. 😛 I…[Read more] -

@His-Instrument YES!!! Les Miserables! My favorite book ever! I love that one. And you haven’t even got to the good part yet. *wiggles eyebrows*
And the Chronicles of Narnia— yes. I reread them recently, and was actually stunned how deep they are. I’d only had them read to me before, when I was seven or eight, and so much of the allegory I…[Read more]

@his-instrument I’ve not read Les Miserables, but my sister has.
I loved The Princess and the Goblin and The Princess and Curdie. Then it came to the end and I was like wait…what?!?!?
I ended up not reading The Mark of the Lion trilogy for that very reason. The violence I didn’t mind, but Mom didn’t care for the depth of the romance and…[Read more]

@his-instrument Go girl!!! I did something like that once (10,000 in two days) and it’s not easy. 😀 I’m currently only at 6000 words. Is your story flowing well then, or are you just pounding it out?

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Signet Ring in the forum Fantasy 9 years, 7 months ago
@WarrioroftheRealm is there one particular thing that played any defining role in the villain’s life at all? Signets are chosen for their personal significance. It should be something relevant to the character. What one thing really means a lot to him? Perhaps it has some hidden symbolism.

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Villain Reveal in the forum Fantasy 9 years, 7 months ago
@WarrioroftheRealm hm… let me see. My first idea was, is there any way the villain could have a motive for meeting them without revealing who he is? Maybe he could go and seek them out for that reason (is he curious? Afraid? Daring? Arrogant?) and meet them as a simple traveler, and things escalate from there.
Or maybe he needs to ship something…[Read more] -

I got 2006 words today, after starting the story twice and then going over and rewriting the first 500 words. I’ll need to streamline and cut down the story later, but I’m pleased with the voice of the MC so far. 😉

@daeus hey, you mentioned you were crazy busy lately, and I just wanted to let you know if you don’t have time for my work it’s totally okay for you to set it aside and focus on more important things. I don’t have any deadlines or anything, so if you need to do that I’m completely okay with it.

Not quite that busy, thankfully. I’m not able to do it every day, but I should be able to do a chapter every other day or so. The bible bee’s over in two weeks, so I should have more time then.
Oh that’s right, you were doing the Bible Bee too. I forgot. How’s that going?
@Daeus
Good, but a little cramped. I have all the verses memorized, but I generally make about one or two slips a passage when reciting them. I’m also cramming a lot of the small stuff here at the end. We’ll see how it goes. I’m happy with it at least.
Well good luck. I hope it goes well.
