Great point @dragon-snapper, Though I may alright in reading it to an extent, (It’s why I am learning to be careful with what books I recommend on KP and write book reviews on) I know that some readers are highly sensitive, and causing them to stumble is the last thing we want to do.
Also, we must remember that we need to strive to glorify God…[Read more]

@daeus I have come to the conclusion that I need trained sea creatures including a Barracuda, swordfish, sea horse, a mermaid and a merman.
Wow! I have destroying an hair style I had in my hair as I am editing. You’ve picked up on some (lots) of great points. And they’re making me think. Last night I was editing, and I suddenly stood up and acted…[Read more] -

@daeus Well, I don’t think that cursing or coarse language should be in a book, or in movies, or anywhere. I have a few reason that I’d like to point out (please keep in mind that I haven’t read much of the other points that people have made. )
1. When I read, words stand out to me. Each word has a meaning. So, the word stays in my head for…[Read more] -

@julia-r: That’s a pretty name. 🙂 Yes, W.A. is very pretty, especially down in Albany. Also when it’s cooler weather and the grass is actually green. 😀 In summer it gets pretty, stinkin’ hot, and dead. And humid. And hot. XD Unfortunately we don’t get snow in the winter either, and our Christmas is in summer. 😀
I’m happy to answer any…[Read more]

@jess:Now you know (maybe? XD) Welp, I can understand that, because it’s hard enough to learn one instrument, and I think the violin is one of the hardest to learn. Thank you also! (I plan to be more prepared next year – I literally signed up for the NaNo on the first day of November, cuz I had only heard…[Read more]

@daeus Wow, I’ve been tagged! Is that significant? 😀
For me, personally, I wouldn’t use cursing in my own novels, and I, personally, don’t like to see it in the novels I read (unless it’s a made-up curse word that no one knows the meaning of, but sometimes that can seem cheap and shallow). A point I’ve heard somewhere (I believe it was on the Reb…[Read more]

Hellooooo @NatalieMarie! Welcome! You will not regret joining; this place is truly amazing.
I’m Kate, by the way. *sticks out hand* In case you can’t tell by my profile pic, I’m a dragon. But don’t worry. I don’t breathe fire (often) and I keep my claws trimmed. How else can I type? 😛

This topic never gets old.
Great points, @Christi-Eaton and @Winter-Rose and @Daeus. I tend to agree with all that has been said so far, but I think I also tend to take a more cautious view of it. Language doesn’t bother me in a book so long as it’s not all over the place. I can block it. But there are those who can’t. And for the sake of those…[Read more] -

Ha! That’s great, Tessa. Editing will never be boring, huh?
Absolutely. @daeus Do you want it back when I’ve finished or are you sick of it?
No, I’m not sick of it, but I’m fairly busy for a while, so I don’t think I could fit in a second run.
@daeus No worries. 🙂
