@Aratrea Can a negative arc turn into a positive arc? If a character has a negative arc through the whole of the book and then, after losing everything and completely falling, could he have a brief positive arc (one that might be a chapter or two long) that brings him back to the truth and partial victory?

Wow, this is amazing Gabrielle. Hilarious. You did an excellent job with Sam’s voice. They pretty much already covered what needs covering. Thumbs up on characterization. I want the rest of this. 😉

@daeus I have a book idea I’ve always wanted to write that is very similar to your prompt! Such a good idea.

You’re doing some writing one day when you hear a knock on your door. You open it up to find your arch villain staring you in the face. He looks at you for a whole minute with a cold expression, then says in a dry, somewhat harsh tone, “Why don’t you start the kettle. We’re going to need to have a long talk.”

@r-j-wordsmith I would like to add that even before knowing what condemned meant, I kind of liked it. It felt ominous, especially not knowing what it meant, which I think is what you were trying to get across, so I wouldn’t stress too much over it. 🙂 Also, after rereading, I noticed this bit at the end:

It feels pretty dark, and while I’m not totally against dark pictures (we have to draw our villains sometimes, right? 😉 ), I don’t think the darkness should be a focusing point. First off, may I just say that I found this story very amusing!
For one, I agree with @ingridrd that the scene with his mom should be moved to another place. Perhaps after Sam’s tale and he comes home, the mom says “Start from the beginning”, and that would be the ending.
