@ingridrd Thank you! @mariposa Lol, the plot doesn’t really involve bacon, although “long live bacon” is the king of random thing Rori would love. *lowers voice* It’s still a weird plot. Talking plants and such. Weird. 😀 @catwing *whispers* Glad I’m not the only one with a favorite. 😉 *glancing furtively around at my other characters*

Jenna Terese started the topic Weird Things People Tell Me 'Cause I'm a Writer in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 10 months ago
I created this topic to share all the funny and weird things that has happened to us being writers. Here’s a couple of my experiences….
I daydream while my mom and another mom-friend talk about their kids’ interests. I’m really not part of the conversation until my mom says, “My daughter writes books.”
Mom-Friend turns to me. “Oh really?…[Read more]

@mariposa Ooohh… Cool. Are they trainable? 😁 (It’s fine if they aren’t)
@Dragon-snapper Ahhhhh… That quote. XD
@daughteroftheking *whispers* Yeah I have my favorite too. I like hiding her in my other stories, while I wait to write her’s. *cough* Cori looks cool.

I prefer instrumentals since a lot of lyrics do not really appeal to me. I listen mostly to soundtracks and scores from shows and musicals since I feel that they offer more variety than mainstream genres. I also listen to classical sometimes, especially Tchaikovsky. A relic from my childhood piano and music lessons.
As for my current…[Read more]

Here’s one I just made for a character in the third book of my trilogy. He’s eight.

@mariposa Yeeees, EPIC! You MUST watch the Star Wars movies!!!!!! If you don’t want to watch them all, watch at least the last three maybe. But the story might make more sense if you watch all the older ones too because there’s a lot of set up and backstory and stuff. Your mind will be blown!

Within the last couple years, I switched from attempting to draw realistically to the Japanese style Manga. I’m really enjoying it and find it much simpler and easier than realistic.
Anyone else who draws this style?
@mariposa @anyone else Seems I don’t know many artists around here…

@seekjustice Yes, this is helpful! Been brainstorming pen names. I like the first name Evelyn, but I usually like shorter names. Any ideas?
Also, if anyone else has any short pen name ideas, it would be appreciated 😉@mariposa @seekjustice @jane-maree @dragon-snapper @audrey-caylin

@mariposa Wow, you like a lot of movie soundtracks! I like the Marvel and Star Wars soundtracks.
I’ll have to check out Dinosaur, ’cause my family likes the Jurassic Park movies too.

@mariposa Thank you! I was thinking of going with WordPress maybe, hosted by BlueHost (I think that’s what it’s called) Do they only limit story space only if you don’t own the domain? Like with .wordpress.com?
@audrey-caylin Forgot to ask; is Caylin a middle name? Would this pen name go on the books you publish?

Jenna Terese started the topic Cliches of Dystopian Novels in the forum Sci-Fi 6 years, 10 months ago
Hi, all! I know I kinda recently created a new topic asking y’all the cliches of sci-fi, but this topic is a little different. I’m thinking of writing a dystopian novel. I know this genre can be pretty heavy on the cliches, so my questions is ‘what are the cliches of this genre?’
I know the whole oppressive government thing is kinda cliche, and I…[Read more]

Since I’ll be self-publishing a short novella I wrote over the summer of 2017, I plan on getting an author website/blog up in the spring. I’ve done tons of research, but nothing is like advice directly from people I know who actually have a blog. What were some things that were unexpected? Challenges? Time commitment? And I’d love to know if you…[Read more]
