Not a Great KP Scare meme but too relatable. Agreed with my mum that I need to get into the doctor again because I might be developing her chronic sleeping issues.

Okay. I’m sorry your head hurts. Have you eaten? Drunk water? Gone for a walk? Snuggled with a pet?

I want to know about the specific situation in your story. Vaguely mentioning the Soviets and New York is not painting me a clear picture.
Or I’m just stupid and this concept is not clicking for me. *Cries*

I should shut up 😅 Okay, never mind all this

I just realized you might still be deciding all this. I’m sorry if this is not something you’re confident on. Questioning dystopian premises is what I do every time I read a book with this stuff.

Meaning? Is America taken over by another country and that country is the one making the laws?
-
whaley the great and terrible replied to the topic The Chat Chat in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 months ago
I get that. I was actually saying I don’t see how that’s a viable strategy for a country right after a world war and civil war.
This is the thing I said that I’m most concerned about:
Because you just said family is what the men believe is worth fighting for, and if this is still America and they’re ravaged this badly, w…

actually, there is a bill that got passed by america allowing homosexual couples to have children
I’m not sure what this has to do with my questions. *Mind-scattered confusion* Am I just not understanding the link between this and what I asked?

Wait, is this still the American government enacting everything or is this another country controlling it? Because you just said family is what the men believe is worth fighting for, and if this is still America and they’re ravaged this badly, wouldn’t they want people to have a fighting motive? Taking family away just makes…[Read more]

Mel
“Um… Okay then.” Mel scooped up the snail and slowly climbed down, staring at the creature in her hand the whole time. She came to stand next to Lucy, and looked up at her blankly. “So who’s they?”

We’ll see.
That’s the fun of not knowing how your own story will turn out in the end, I suppose. You can’t plan everything. (One side of me wishes it were possible, though.)

Without a family to fight and provide for, men loose their purpose. (It was actually a strategy developed by communist Russia though it was never fully established)
That’s really interesting. I’ll have to look into it. Sometimes I hear about a government control strategy I didn’t know about previously and sometimes it’s like “o…[Read more]

Delightfully whimsical-sounding! I shall look at what you sent me. It’s been a log time since I read the perspective of an unrelatable narrator.
What kind of prophecy is it?
Actually I should just start reading instead of asking you. But you can answer if the answer isn’t a big spoiler and doesn’t show up in what you sent me.

In a country where true family is forbidden and marriage is a crime
Not to entirely derail the KP title drama, but I was just thinking about your blurb. I may have asked this question when you first talked about this but I don’t remember 😅 How does this work? Why is marriage a crime?
I feel like this would be an interesting…[Read more]

As far as titles go, I always thought of you as kp’s local cryptid because of your elusive and random nature lol

but have you all actually been trained to fight with them? 😂
Depends on exactly what you mean by training, but how is this at all writing/ kp related?

I just don’t like how they’re treated as more important/impactful than other stories.

I’m honestly a bit tired of dark stuff and stories that “deal with hard themes”.
I’m always a little annoyed when people say we need more writers dealing with darkness in their stories. Literally 90% of the WIPs I’ve heard about have dark themes like PTSD and abuse, and a lot of published books are the same.
I write dark themes so I don…[Read more]
