I think I just realized something! Ellie, my lil alien character, is probably a bit autistic!
Reasons:
-She almost always tenses up or jumps when she hears loud noises
– She flicks her tail around a lot (stimming)
-Often needs her sister’s help when talking to new people
-Likes having very detailed plans and strategies and gets frustrated when her plans are messed up
-Is very detail oriented
-Does not usually like hugs (tolerates it when it’s her sister)
@loopylin
Cool!!
So I originally thought Paxton had a bit of autism as well, but it turns out it’s actually just severe Child PTSD. Because PTSD can actually Resemble Autism, (I found an article on this I believe I put the link in character castle somewhere)
So yea! But in extreme cases of an onslaught of bad memories or emotions, Paxton will have a lot of Autistic tendencies, but it’s actually PTSD.
For instance, lights are too bright, clothes feel itchy, skin crawling, things just don’t feel right, and he can’t bring himself to talk, at all. It’s like a severe panic attack, but at the same time he’s completely aware for it.
@godlyfantasy12 You mentioning that about Paxton in the castle is actually what made me start thinking about it! The PTSD and autism overlap is really interesting. I really enjoy learning about psychology and things like that.
@freedomwriter76 Oh! A deaf and mute boy sounds really hard but fun to write😃. I remember reading a fantasy book that had a blind character and a mute character who were friends. The mute talked to the blind guy by snapping and clapping, which I thought was cool.
