@seekjustice I just had two hours to write in the car on the way to my uncle’s house for our Independence Day celebration. I was writing another story, (not my western,) and then I realized that my hero was starting to sound exactly like Zac. 😮 Now I’m frantically trying to think of all the ways he won’t be like Zac so he won’t sound like h…[Read more]

@seekjustice Ah, I see. 😀
Yes, I thought Zac was a horrible character when was first introduced to him, as you remember. 😛 I think all of us complained about him after those first couple of chapters. And now we count him as the best character!
Hm, okay. Well, I’ll have to refrain from giving an opinion until I read it. 😉 I actually do lik…[Read more]

@seekjustice If Jonas did it, Chessy would listen. If Jean did it, Chessy would at least try to listen. But you’re having Sapphire do it? Chessy’s just going to get mad, isn’t she? 😛
Yes, but that’s the best kind of character. One you don’t really know until the end of the book when he surprises you. It was the same way with Kendall. I tho…[Read more]

@seekjustice The “unequally yoked” conversation?? Oohh!! Will Jonas do it?? 😉 😉 (He just seems like the kind of guy who would.)
Well, you didn’t mention that it would be the character I’d fall in love with! I mean, seriously. You had so many characters, and you had to kill Zac. But then, the reason I love him so much is because he was w…[Read more]

@seekjustice Hm, I guess they don’t want people cheating if they get near the end and see that they can’t make their goals.
Ah, I see. 😛
Great!! I can’t wait to read them. I have one more planned right now, but don’t know when I’ll get around to writing it. 😉 Maybe sometime when I need a break from my western.

@seekjustice Aaand, that took longer than I expected. But I’m back now! How about you? Finish your lunch?
I haven’t done enough to really say Camp is going well, but I think I’ll be rolling in the next few days. 🙂
How about you? How is your editing going? And are you doing any more fanfics? (which shouldn’t actually be called fanfics beca…[Read more]

Um, it’s going…better? I think? 😛 Still slow, but I am back in the storyline. I mean, I’ve gotten my head back into the story, where it was out since I’d been not writing for a while. So that’s good.
I’m actually going to step out for about half an hour, so maybe you can eat lunch and then we’ll get back in a bit?

@valtmy ah I REALLY wish I could read your book, but sadly I’m super-duper busy right now with multiple things + beta reading for someone else as well. So sorry 🙁 Keep up the good work though!

@Alia I’m just moving here ’cause I don’t wanna sabotage the Writer’s Corner…
Yay that you love the song!
Eh, extra time is ever elusive. I guess that’s better than not having anything to post though. ;P How long have you been a blogger, and how long have you had that blog up?
-
@emma-flournoy plus moving here makes it easier to keep track of what on earth the conversation is about
Have you ever listened to Where Were You by Francesca Battistelie?
I think I started my writing blog about a year and a half ago. Broken journey was at the end of May.
Do you have a blog? Or does that fall under you not being a writer?
-
Quite.
I haven’t, but I will now.
I don’t have a blog, but not because I’m not a writer. I think it’d be fun (and educational, and hopefully useful to others) to blog, I just don’t have time. If I had one, it would probably be a mish-mash of book and movie rantings, telling people to go read Kate’s books, music stuff, general life/spiritual…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy, hey, sorry for not getting back to you til now, this past week has been a bit crazy at my house.
thats the thing I like about my blog is that I can post something whenever I have time.
your idea for what you blog would be sounds like something I would read all the time

I wonder, could the reason that our lives keep getting busier as we get older be at all related to the fact that older people have more responsibility? Mind-blown

I know, really. O.o Such shocking revelations.
Precisely that. And in that I fervently hope and pray they relish it while they can, ’cause it sure as sartin’ ain’t gonna last forever.

My mom printed of a ton of bible verses a few years ago and she puts them all over the house. So thats one way that I am able to read scripture all day
-
Oh yeah, that’s awesome. We do have a lot of that too; sometimes I’m so used to them I don’t really stop and read them anymore, so that could well be a problem. What’s your favorite passage or section? It’s nigh on impossible to choose, I know, and that’s an impossible question, so just, what’s one of your favorites. ;P
-
Thats the downside of having them up all the time, but my mom changes them every now and then so that keeps me looking at them some times.
One that I often turn to is Psalm 71:1-6
In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
turn your ear to me and save me.

That’s a great one. One I find helpful is Ecclesiastes 3:1-15.
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
3 A time to kill,

@dekreel Hey, I believe that you asked a while ago if I’d like to be in a KP story? I didn’t see it until recently, sorry 🙁 Yes, I would love to, if you decide to write one one day! 🙂
-
Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #18 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
@valtmy *chuckles nervously* um, yeah. She actually hasn’t been up to much. That’s the problem. 😛 But I’ll work on it. 😀
Okay, that’s what I thought. Now, follow up question: What’s your definition of parody? Not the dictionary definition, but what do you think when you hear the word “parody?”
-
Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #18 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
@valtmy Wow, haha. 😛 I’m not sure what that means but I think you’re saying I need to update soon. 😛
I have a question. Your book is supposed to be a romance parody, right? Or did I get that mixed up with something else? During my semi-break I kind of lost focus on everyone’s WIPs but SeekJustice’s, so sorry if I’m remembering wrong.
-
Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #18 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
@valtmy I didn’t mean I had that attitude yet, just that I need to have that attitude. 😛
And I was just thinking, I never ended up commenting on your first chapters, did I? 😮
-
Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #18 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
@valtmy I think I have a section almost ready for beta reading too, I just have to accept that it’s not going to be perfect the first time around and that’s why I’m putting it up for you all to read… 😉
