@Kate-Flournoy Cool! I agree, MBTI is undoubtedly the best out there. The practicality of the cognitive functions it is built on appeals to my Inferior Te. It’s refreshingly sensible whereas the enneagram can seem a little indefinite at times.

@aratrea Aha! So that’s what the arrows are for! That was the one thing I could never get my head around.

It’s probably what sold me the most on the Enneagram system since I know I tend to act fairly differently depending on my mood.

@kate-flournoy @daeus @graciegirl One other thing to add to this discussion on Enneagram theory is that one of the coolest parts of the system (at least for me) is the theory that when you are stressed or relaxed, you actually act like a different character type (hence the connecting lines: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enneagram_of_Personality).…[Read more]

@Kate-Flournoy I’m afraid I don’t know very much about theory behind the enneagram, I’m just familiar with the common attributes of the different types. That description I gave for the 3w4 is a list of specific 4 traits that a 3 might also have in addition to their own. If you really relate to that particular list, I would hypothesize that your…[Read more]

@Daeus The wings and arrows of you personality type are almost like sub-types. Like Josiah said, you are primarily one type, (in your case a 3) but you can be further identified as a 3 with (for example) a moderate two wing. When you first use the enneagram you have 9 choices for your type, and once you’ve ‘chosen’ from those 9, you can then…[Read more]

@daeus It’s essentially saying that while you’re predominantly one character type, you also share a lot of qualities in common with another character type adjacent to your character type in the Enneagram circle. That alternate type will then be your ‘wing.’

@christi-eaton Thanks! I’m excited about getting to know this place better. I must say, I honestly don’t see how it can get any more amazing. Its already beyond anything I’ve ever imagined. An ESTJ, wow. My complete opposite, this’ll be fun! 🙂 Good luck with those classes! I look forward to seeing you around!
@aratrea Thank you for the welcome!…[Read more]

@graciegirl Welcome to the forum! Glad you’ve found us. 🙂 I actually just read Scandal in Bohemia for the first time last week for a college class and enjoyed it a good bit. Also, shout-out for breaking the MBTI-monopoly by including your Enneagram. 😉 I’m actually a 4w5 as well!

@graciegirl If you and @kate-flournoy want to talk about your MBTI, that’s what most of this topic ended up being about. I know nothing about it, so I’ll just let you…yeah. 😀
So, to fire this old thing up again, does anyone ever NOT want to plan…or write…or do anything, and you just procrastinate…[Read more] -

@Sarah-H (Ding-ding-ding!!) We have a winner! 🙂 I think the longest camping trip I’ve ever been on was somewhere around 7-10 days. Last year for our Big Trip we circumnavigated Lake Michigan. It was AWESOME!! If you ever find yourself in the Michigan area, Luddington State Park and Union Bay Campground are my absolute favorites! At Union Bay we…[Read more]

@graciegirl Oh, yeah. I’m ENFJ, a protagonist, but I don’t really know anything more than that. 😛 I’m with @daeus , but they didn’t say anything about my wings. That, or they did and I didn’t even read it. 😛

@daeus Well, at first I didn’t say anything because I thought that this was fantasy, but since it’s historical fiction, I’m having second thoughts.
Personally, I don’t prefer mysticism in stories, regardless of whether it is of a badguy or not. What @winter-rose said is true, that there are spiritual powers in the world, but I don’t necessarily…[Read more] -
