@perfectfifths Well, I’m done for now. I wrote 173 words and edited half a chapter of the same story. Not particularly happy with what I got done, but I suppose it’s better than nothing. How’d you do?

@kate-flournoy @perfectfifths My life is: keep looking at it and make it perfect until it is perfect….the life of a writer/artist/musician is hard when you go by those terms… *sigh*

I’m afraid I won’t be able to come. 🙁 But while we’re on the subject, is anyone going to be at either the Cincinnati or Indianapolis Homeschool Conventions this year? I’m just curious, and I hope @anne-of-lothlorien doesn’t mind me diverting the conversation a teensy bit. 😉

@kate-flournoy Wait, so the MC and his wife are both fighting on different sides of the war? You’re a cruel author. 😉 So it sounds like both of them are similar in powers and EiL, and the only distinction is what side they’ve chosen?
Ah; yes. Good example of that character type.

@kate-flournoy Oooh; I like it. Very nice way to alternate between two different perspectives there to create a rich dichotomy and irony. Both supporting themes seem particularly well-mixed in the last section, where morality is tied into hope. Well done.

@delightinlife Welcome to the bestistest place on earth! (yes, @graciegirl you beat me to it. Don’t dragons ever listen 😛 ) Ahem! Anyways.
Ah, I have pretty much the same reasons for writing! I can’t stand the ‘confused romances’, as you put it, or the violence, or the overdose of mysticism. Medieval fantasies are my favorite, and I’ve actually…[Read more] -

Welcome to the site, Bella! Glad to hear you were able to find us. 🙂 Great reading choices as well–Pride and Prejudice is one of my all-time favorites. Have you read any other works by Austen?

@audrey-caylin That kind of foil setup can work really well for a story. Do you have any favorite examples of that in stories you’ve read?
